"We need to get to the SCD before more time passes," Spirit spoke quickly, "which base ended up having the prototype?"

"Berlin," Greiger responded, "the only problem is that, at this very moment, they have Insomniac in their possession, and that monster is a pain to kill,"

"He can also clone himself to some extent in our universe," Shaine noted, "he might not be able to clone himself infinitely like back home, but there's a possibility that he had the power to do so before he touched the Chrysalis,"

Greiger reached forward with the outdated teleportation gloves, pulling apart the air in front of him, a sparking blue portal forming midair, revealing a veritable army of agents, each with a gun trained on him. Spirit's time stop did not happen a second too soon, and with a flick of her wrist, the guns evaporated, allowing time to continue flowing again. Wraith leapt over Greiger, firing dense shadows all over the place, not sharp enough to kill, but plenty heavy for some concussing attacks. Crashing through the crowd, the werewolf spun, punching away agents with such speed and ferocity, he left the army in shambles, only three agents left standing. That was when a horrifying roar echoed throughout the cast-iron corridors of the Berlin base,

"Run!" Greiger barked, his days as a military man coming back to him, "he's coming from 9 o'clock,"

The metal fist of the cyborg rocketed into the darkness, chasing the location of the roar, and the sound of it striking something split the panicked cries of the remaining agents. One charged Greiger, hoping to gain an advantage over the one-armed monstrosity, but a simple kick knocked him out before he could even react. Splitting screams came from the remaining two agents as the light was struck with an overly long, spindly arm. They were lifted into the darkness, the sickening crunching of bones in the dark sending shivers down Greiger's spine,

"Fucking hell," Greiger muttered,

"Keep up!" Spirit called to him, "you do want to get home, right?"

He did not need to be told, machines and muscles pushing him faster and faster, bolting right past the others while Shaine put up a wall of shadows, hoping to bar the progress of the Insomniac. But it had no effect, the monster walking right through it as if there was nothing in his way, as if the laws of reality themselves did not affect him. Even time itself relinquishing its grasp on that world would not have stopped his slow, evil walk,

"It's supposed to be right here!" Greiger yelled, gripping the hard metal of a door and throwing it open, beckoning the other two in,

Even as Spirit caught up, Greiger swung a backhand, catching her in the face and sending her into Wraith, causing the duo to collapse to the ground, the freakish roars of Insomniac catching up to them,

"You forgot that I'm not on your side," The werewolf explained, his voice devoid of emotion, "now enjoy your last moments,"

The whirring of a machine filled the ears of the two as a bright orange glow was cast around the facility,

"Wait!" Spirit bellowed, "we have to figure out how to complete it! You'll unravel the entire universe if you don't!"

"Then let it burn,"

He stepped through the orange portal onto the streets of Belgium, daytime sun burning into his eyes as the portal shut. Tremors began, the rocking of the entire planet not phasing the incoming Insomniac, who had entered view, a towering monstrosity with endless bloodlust, blood still trickling from his open mouth, as the head of one of the agents hung there, the remains of his spine holding the head outstretched like a wicked offering, an expression of frozen horror and terror held on his face. Wraith sliced it in half, the monstrosity's left and right sides sliding apart, still moving with the force of the evil within it, a wicked laugh echoing from its voice box. Darkness fell as a bolt of magic rent it in two, sending the abomination flying upwards through iron and stone, right into the open sky.
