Jim and Maddie followed the adult through the sky as they rocketed over the desert and over the sea. Don't fall behind. The adult said and suddenly flew straight up and Jim and Maddie struggled to gain height to stay with the adult. Look Jim a building floating in the clouds! Maddie shouted and then Jim saw it as well. The adult landed soundlessly and then Jim and Maddie crashed down and when the dust cleared the adult said we'll need to work on that, but for now the basics. Jim and Maddie flashed back to their human forms and the adult did the same, "Call me Sam and me dragon is Srigg. And we were chosen to train you two to control and hide your powers." He explained and then he started to glow and his dragon scales showed over his own skin and the ground shifted and shook until a training ground and dummies rose from the stones. "We start with manipulating a morph with your dragon scales into armor for better protection. It's called the active state, your eyes will show the dragon inside, and you will have access to all of your dragon powers." He shouted from a pillar "Focus and will your dragon to the surface and then shape your scales into the armor of your choice." Jim tried and his armor showed as a ghostly impression then the energy Jim put in didn't solidify and exploded around him "Focus try to channel the energy into a solid substance." He advised. Next Maddie tried and her armor solidified, but it was easily destroyed by an arrow from Sam. "Put more dragon power into it." He advised as his bow disappeared.
The next day, Jim and Maddie tried at the same time and when their armor solidified, Jim catches the arrow and Maddie shattered it with a lightning - quick strike. "Very good. Now we master the energy waves dragons can manipulate, or magic as it has been called. When you use it your scales will appear as a shadow over your skin and you will glow allowing you to manipulate the environment around you. It's how I made my bow ,with a little dragon power anything is possible." Sam continued, "Again we will focus and unleash your dragon power." "Okay let's do this!" Jim shouted and clenched his eyes shut and his dragon appeared in a ghostly form behind Jim and then Jim collapsed under the pressure. Maddie ran to his unconscious body and checked his pulse to make sure he was still alive. Then she tried and the same result befell her.
The next day Sam woke them up and said, "Unlocking your Magical power is a hard process and it is tough on the body, but your powers will unlock if you really need them. So I'm gonna make you need to use your powers." Jim and Maddie couldn't believe that he was going to force them to need their powers. Later that day, Maddie was placed on the start line of an obstacle course, her objective to make it through without being hit by Sam and Srigg's magical efforts. She takes off and immediately enters the active state and dodged a rain of arrows That fell from the sky. She also jumped over a river of fire flowing from the rocks. Then a giant ice dragon stepped from under the training ground and froze Maddie. Trapped in the ice, the arrows peppered her armor through the ice. Then the dragon itself slashed at her with its claws, Maddie snapped and she felt so angry she willed the ice to break and then felt the power surge and the ice dragon blew apart. We did it! We got our powers! Dracana shouted as they walked across the finish. "Yes! I did it!" Maddie shouted and accidentally froze the field. "Now you need to control it." Sam said.
Jim took off, and burned the first volley of arrows with his fire breath. And stood his ground while he was bombarded with mud from a hole in the wall. He jumped his and landed just short of the finish, but he was attacked by a dragon formed from the rocks of the field and smashed into him. Jim was sent into a wall and it collapsed on him. Leaving him open to be peppered by Sam's arrows. Then he felt the power surge and then the dragon was destroyed and the arrows never touched him as he walked across the line. "Done!" He shouted. We did it, we have unlocked our powers. Draco said and in his excitement Jim raised pillars of earth from the ground. "Tomorrow we complete the training." Sam utters as he walks away.
