Sam pondered the couple's training and decided to give his students the final test and release them into the world with their newly discovered power and the knowledge of dragons. The test will teach them everything they need to survive in the world, but it will not reveal their roles in the prophecy. We must let them figure that out o their own. Srigg said, and Sam agreed. The next morning Sam fired arrows into the young dragons bed posts and then at the teens. He waited at his archer tower, he fidgetted with his bowstring and waited. Then he leaped out of the way as his post was ripped to shreds by an energy blast made of earth and ice. "What was that!?" the couple shouted as they flew out of the dorms, dragon armor blazing around them. "That was my way of testing your elemental abilities that come with the magic you unlocked yesterday, my element is metal. You two will begin your final test today, you will forge a special weapon that reflects your personality, my bow is infused with metal and my tendency to stay back and strike from a distance.

Jim was excited about making his weapon, but he didn't understand how the forge he was in actually made Draco appear next to him as he started his work. He followed Sam's directions and closed his eyes and let the magic flowing through him and Draco guide his hands. He felt materials in his hands as he worked and hammered away at whatever he had in the forge. After a long time working Jim finally felt the heat of Draco's breath and the finished product felt very well-balanced and he felt Draco take the weapon from him and set it to the side. Rest now Jim, we will finish the process when we recover. Draco sighed and Jim felt Draco return to his body and guide him back to the room outside the forge. Maddie Entered a different forge and was surprised when her directions were to pay attention to every detail of her work. She started by letting the magic control her and Dracana's actions and watched as she picked thin slivers of metal and pounded them with a hammer into what appears to be a staff like weapon with an edge around the slightly thicker end. And was amazed by the final effort in the process was to muster all of her strength and infuse her new weapon with ice. She then sees Dracana set the weapon aside and move her to Jim's side.
The couple woke up at noon and after lunch Sam brought their weapons out on a cart. "Pick up your weapon and finish the forging process." Sam commanded. Jim went first and reached for his sword. Before he knew it he was telling Sam about its properties, "Forged from the elemental earth I summoned and a combination of dragon forged metal this sword is perfectly balanced and it's edge will never dull or nick while in battle. It also channels dragon power into a solid beam that is devastating to all who oppose." When Jim finished his eyes turned reptilian and he drove his earthen blade into the ground and stood still as a statue glowing with power. "Maddie , your turn" Sam said. Maddie stepped up and grabbed her staff, and she explained, "This staff has a blade affixed to the end, but the dragon steel is tempered blue so it blends in with the unbreakable, and non-melting ice. It can also create powerful blasts of dragon power that explode upon impact. The end with the blade is slightly heavier to provide a more powerful hit when swung at an enemy." When she finished she spun her staff and planted it in the ground and started glowing with power as a story unfolded for the couple. There are many different kinds of dragons,the two-legged, with wings on their arms wyverns, the serpentine east dragons, the feathered west dragons, and the deadly chicken headed cockatrice, even the Eurodragons with four legs and two wings. And they have been fighting since before major civilization arose in humanity. When technology arose we dragons went into hiding by assimilating into human culture and many of us have assumed powerful positions in governments and businesses. We have not taken over the world because of the weapons that were developed by the time we disappeared into the masses. And a humans reproduction is much faster than that of a dragon so they would have easily outnumbered us. After centuries of being hidden our dragons began becoming the humans, they used magic, and bred with the humans creating you, the dragonkin. As the couple's power faded with the story and they sat down to process what they had learned.
"Now that you have your weapons and know the history of the dragonkin, you will enter the world and learn of the prophecy." Sam said and then morphed and flew off. "Well, let's go! We have a prophecy to find!" Maddie shouted and swan dived off the edge into the clouds to fly home.
