Atlas Langdon sat in his office, fingers steepled under his chin. He watched as the human across from him squirmed in the chair, not meeting Atlas's gaze. Atlas could nearly smell the fear on the man before him.

"So, tell me more. Tell me who Kierson is to you." Atlas's tone was even, calm. He wasn't threatening, not yet. He didn't have to; everyone knew who he was if they ran with Kierson. Human or not, this man was very well aware of who sat across from him. No mistaking the monster in the room.

The human paled. "My employer." It was almost too easy, Atlas decided. The human was too forthcoming. Not a drop of loyalty towards Kierson running through his veins. Atlas didn't always like easy.

"And he has you do... what? Spy for him? Do his dirty work in my city?"

The human shook his head. Actually, Atlas observed quite easily that every part of this human shook. "Kierson is an idiot to employ these fools," Rufias snorted in his mind. There was a huff of annoyance. "Maybe it'll be easier to take him down than we thought."

Atlas didn't answer Rufias. He stared at the human, eyes glowering as the human took too long to spit out an answer. "I'm waiting."

The undercurrent of a threat in Atlas's voice had the human closing his eyes and opening his mouth. "My job was to spy. Kierson knew you would have no idea that I worked for him! I was to report back my findings-"

"And what did you find?" Atlas purred. He lounged back in his chair, a cruel grin covering his face. Atlas was positive about one thing: this human didn't know a damn thing about Atlas Langdon and what he was trying to accomplish.

"You're killing werewolves. Murdering them." The man's voice was unstable. He was sucking down large gulps of air as if to calm himself. Prevent a panic attack. "Kierson said you were trying to eradicate every clan."

"Hmm." Atlas tapped his chin. "Eradicate every clan... that would be a good idea. I'd be King Alpha. Has a ring, doesn't it?" Atlas suddenly sat forward, leaning towards the human, his grin gone. His eyes bore into the human, intimidating him for no other reason than for fun. "And tell me, what did Kierson do with that information?"

"Eradicate every clan? Is Kierson an even bigger idiot than we thought?" Rufias gave a sick laugh. "The blind leading the blind. Good riddance."

The human was near crying now. "I don't know! I just report to him."

"And the human girl? What was that about?" Atlas let a claw poke from the tip of his pointer finger, and he dragged it along the desk. Grinned as he watched the human track the claw. The human went impossibly pale at the sight of that, and the words came faster. Easier.

"He wanted to lure you there. He wanted you to come to the pack house so he could murder you himself. Thought that you wouldn't stand a chance of surviving an ambush."

The claw retracted, but Atlas stood. Had his hands clasped behind his back. He slowly walked around his desk so that he stood beside the sitting human. His face was serious, his eyes darkening at the topic of conversation. Rufias was notably silent in his head. "Kierson thought I would get myself killed over a human girl?"

Atlas noted the scent of piss fill the air. Ah, so the human was terrified. It made him satisfied to know that he could do so little and still inspire fear. "He said she was your mate!" The human was crying now, shoulders hunched. "He said that the human would make you come!"

Atlas already knew that Kierson had made the connection. But, it was another thing for Kierson to be telling his entire pack, including the worthless humans, this information. Made his stomach sour to know that a countless number of humans who worked for Kierson were wandering his city knowing this information.
