I turn around, my lips slightly parted as I meet the steady gray eyes of the boy in front of me.
"Why don't you go back to Parkinson? She'll be disappointed to find out you're hanging out with me instead. I think she has a small crush on you," I smirk, and I receive an eye roll in response.
"You think I don't know that?" He responds, running a hand through his silky hair as he lay down on the grass, jutting his chin out slightly in an indication for me to sit down. "Pansy acts like she's my girlfriend or something. But I'll admit, I don't mind the attention."I sit across from him on my knees, my head resting on my hand. My mind races with what he'll spit out next, whether it's an insult, or-
"How many people know?" He asks me, unknowingly interrupting a long train of thought. I raise an eyebrow at the funny question, confused about what he was talking about.
"What are you talking about?"
"Merlin's beard, Y/n, how oblivious can you get? I'm talking about when you kissed me, remember? 'Cause of your insanely obvious crush on me?" He smirks at my confused expression.
My 'insanely obvious crush on him'? Seriously?
I burst out laughing, clutching my stomach in response to the ridiculous claims Malfoy was making.
"Draco Malfoy," I say through choked laughter, "I do not, and don't plan on, ever having a crush on you."
"You still haven't answered my question, you know. How many people know? Well, besides that French girl." He reminds me as the gentle wind blows through his hair, making creases appear in his button-up white shirt.
Dare I say he looks good?
Wait, what the hell?
"Only Skye knows, and she won't tell a soul," I say, my heart rate surprisingly calm judging by the conversation we're having.
"Ok, then. I haven't told anyone and I plan to keep it that way," he mumbles to himself more than me before taking a pause. "I just wanted to say that whatever happened was completely unplanned."
"Yup," I agree, unsure of what was happening.
"And it didn't mean anything," he continues, meeting my y/e/c eyes.
"Definitely."
"And it's never going to happen ever again," he finishes, his voice gentle but stern.
"Never."
Well, that was easy. We sit in a comfortable silence for a few moments when he gets up abruptly, staring down at me. "C'mon," he says as he walks away, shouting over his shoulder. "You seem bored anyway."
Am I just supposed to follow him? What if it's a trick? But he's right, I have nothing else to do, anyway. I groan softly as I pick myself up from the floor and pick up my bookbag, jogging after him.
"Stop... walking... so... fast," I say exasperatedly as the boy takes long strides to the village of Hogsmeade, hands in pockets as he turns around, still walking with a smug expression on his face.
"Too quick for you, Y/n?" He said in a triumphant voice.
"Oh, shut up. What about Pansy? She won't be too pleased to see you left her at the Hogwarts' courtyard," I say with an airy laugh as he shrugs his shoulders in response.
"She won't mind," he says, redirecting our attention to the beautiful village in front of us.
"Where should we go first?" I ask breathlessly, unsure if it's from the village or the running.
He looks around for a few seconds before his eyes land on a clothing shop in front of us.
"There," he points as he walks into the shop.
As I follow, lavender and citrus seep through the brightly lit room and a tiny wizard standing in front of a large mannequin points his wand at Malfoy and squeaks,
"You, sir, could use a nice coat for this weather!"
Large strings of yarn wrap themselves around Malfoy, disgust bubbling on his face as the bright red and yellow colors create an ugly shawl over his white shirt. I quickly turn away from him to hide my snickers, and my eyes catch a beautiful display of necklaces glistening inside a glass case. Glancing at Malfoy, I catch him struggling to rip off the shawl, but it keeps on refastening itself onto his body as the wizard cheers gleefully, commenting on how handsome it made him look.
As I stalk off towards the display, I catch a golden, layered necklace with a small emerald tinkling off the end of the largest chain. I stare at the beautiful craftsmanship of the charm for a few beats before a small cough snaps me back to reality.
"Like it?" Malfoy says, his head slightly tilted at the necklace I was staring at so intently a few seconds ago. "My mother has the same one," he smirks.
"It's pretty. What's even better was the wonderful shawl that wizard made for you," I say with a smug smile that makes him furrow his eyebrows.
"That git," He mutters with distaste dripping from his voice. I laugh softly as we make our way out of the shop, Malfoy complaining about the wizard. We walk into a small nook to find ourselves in the Three Broomsticks, Butterbeer wafting through the air.
I smile to myself, thinking that maybe, just maybe, he wasn't as insufferable as I thought.
A/n: Y/n. In Hogsmeade. With DRACO MALFOY
I'm so jealous ughhhhhh 😩😩😩😩
also for the necklace Y/n was looking at I imagined it to look like the photo I put at the top of the screen in the lil header thing
I want this to be the chapter where they go out as friends-ish idk cause I feel they need to spend some time together
on the topic of the necklace, it's gonna be pretty significant in Year 4, so just keep that in the back of your mind, and lastly I am aware that to get to Hogsmeade there is a whole station and stuff but whatever just pretend you can just walk out or smth.
