Nemuri woke up that morning to find Mirei in her siren form, laying in the bathtub while still in her pajamas, cup of tea in hand. She had bags under her eyes, Nemuri herself in a similar state.
"Long night, princess?" Nemuri asks, sipping on some coffee.
An inhuman purr (at least, she thinks it's a purr. With all the sounds Mirei makes she should really do more research on sirens) is the only response she gets, Mirei sipping on her tea once more.
It'd become apparent that the girl absolutely loathed coffee with a burning passion, despising the very taste of it. She'd even once replaced all of Shouta's coffee with decaf and hid the real stuff at the bottom of a nearby lake. Of course, she was in trouble, but they all laughed about it later.
"You have school soon, you know." Nemuri told her.
A whine left Mirei, the girl reluctantly pulling herself out the water as she went to go get dressed.
.
"I am here!" All Might said loudly, much to the dread of two people.
Mirei groaned quietly, Shouta doing the same.
"Kayama, can I borrow you for a moment?" Her teacher asked.
Mirei stood, following him out the room. Once they were in the hallway, Shouta took a deep breath, before leveling her with a look.
"If this is about my hero costume, we're going to fight." Mirei said pointedly.
"Mirei, your costume is fine." Shouta said calmly. "I just need to be sure that you won't go too far. Again."
The girl huffed, saying "I don't go too far...."
"You do. You've lost control in the past, and it's nearly gotten your friends hurt." He retorted. "Which is why if it happens this time, you're losing your microphone and music privileges."
Now, having a quirk literally called Siren meant that Mirei loved to consistently have some sort of music or sing something. When she was six, she threw a fit and cried for an hour straight because a teacher had confiscated her headphones (and being a siren, her quirk made the other children cry as well. Nemuri had found it hilarious).
"You wouldn't dare." Mirei hissed.
"I would. No causing any serious injuries, understood?" Shouta said firmly.
Mirei groaned, muttering a few things in English, before saying "Fine."
She then walked off, entering the girl's locker room to start getting on her hero costume....
"Mineta! No! We're better than this!"
She (and all the other girls) paused in their actions. Mirei sighed walking over to the wall.
"Mineta," She calmly said. "If I see your eye go anywhere near this hole in the wall, I'm going to violently cut off your balls, and then feed them to you."
Needless to say, Mineta didn't try his luck.
*A few minutes later....*
"Woah! Kayama, you look amazing!" Kirishima commented, causing the other students to glance in her direction.
Mirei's her costume was mainly a dark pink diver suit with midnight purple accents along the sides of it. Around her neck were a pair of dark purple goggles, and she had a utility belt that had a few diving masks, as well as a few flares.
"Glad you like it, boys...." Mirei responded. She crossed her arms, saying "Did I miss anything yet?"
"No, young Kayama! You're right on time!" All Might said, standing before the class.
As he started to explain, Tenya raised his hand, saying "Excuse me, All Might? There's an uneven number of students, so how will this work?"
"Excellent question!" All Might said, grinning. "Due to young Kayama's unique skill set, we'll have her go first as an example. Young Todoroki, you'll be the hero team, while young Kayama will be on the villain team. A classic one on one!"
Which is how Mirei ended up on the top floor of the training building, waiting patiently. She began humming to herself, before opening her mouth.
All st once, a bunch of speakers (a little gift from Present Mic) turned on in the building, Todoroki feeling by his breath hitch as she started singing.
"Well, I didn't tell anyone, but a bird flew by; saw what I'd done." She sang through the speakers, far from Todoroki's view. "He set up a nest outside.... And he sung about, what I'd become. He sang so loud, sang so clear; I was afraid all the neighbors would hear. So I invited him in, just to reason with him. I promised I wouldn't do it again...."
Todoroki kept walking.... He then froze, feeling as if the air was sucked out of his lungs as Mirei's voice shifted, his vision spotting.
"But he sang louder and louder inside the house! And now I couldn't get him out!"
Her voice appeared to get louder, his vision spinning as she got closer.
"So I trapped him under a cardboard box; stood on it to make him stop!" She sang, landing a kick to his side.
Todoroki fell to the ground looking up at her. Mirei's eyes appeared to glow in the dark as she sneered down at him, her voice appearing to suffocate him.
"Picked up the bird and above the den, I said 'that's the last song you'll ever sing.' Held him down, broke his neck- taught him a lesson he wouldn't forget!" She sang, pulling her fist back.
She clocked him in the face, knocking him unconscious as she fell silent. She then stretched, looking up at the cameras with a grin.
"V- villain team wins!" All Might announced.
.
"Does anyone want to tell me how or why young Kayama won?" All Might asked, watching Mirei and Todoroki from the corner of his eye.
Todoroki looked.... Frustrated would be putting it lightly. He avoided looking directly at Mirei, appearing agitated that he lost so easily. Mirei, on the other hand, looked proud of herself, grinning widely, hands in her pockets.
"Kayama fought well. She used her surroundings to her advantage and deliberately kept her distance and incapacitated Todoroki before he had the chance to use his quirk." Yaoyorozu stated.
"Excellent observation." All Might said, smiling. "Now then, let's move onto-"
"You underestimated me."
Everyone fell silent, watching Mirei address Todoroki. She smirked, tilting her head as she watched him.
"Your father's the number two, correct? I must say, I'm disappointed. I was hoping you would provide a challenge, and yet, the moment you heard my voice-"
"You're a siren," Todoroki snapped, approaching her. "You're naturally deceptive. Your song completely disoriented me, and I lost focus, Siren."
Mirei scowled, stepping closer, saying "My name isn't Siren, Peppermint."
Todoroki glared, moving so that they were only inches apart.
"And my name isn't Peppermint, Siren."
Yeah.... She had a feeling they weren't going to get along.
