Screaming, I hold my head down, lying down on my belly across both seats.
"Kimali?" No answer.
"Kimali!?"
Oh shit!
Panicking, I take out my phone and call Sadie.
She answers one the second ring.
"Shots are firing all about and I can't find Kimali—"
"Wait, wait. Come down—Mani!"
"I—mih dehh innah the car, mih think it bullet proof."
"You alone in the car?"
"Yes Sadie!"
Shots are still firing rapidly outside. If I could drive, I come out of this parking lot.
But I'm not harmed because the vehicle is bulletproof and I don't think whoever's shooting knows that someone is in the vehicle.
Hence the only thing I have to worry about is Kimali, I do—
"Stay in the car, wehh unnuh d—"
Before Sadie could finish, the next thing I know is that I'm being dragged out of the car by my legs. I let out a scream, gripping on the seat.
Kicking my feet, I manage to kick the person in the abdomen.
As soon as my foot collides with their body, a shot fires, their body fells to the ground.
Turning around, I pull myself back in the seat.
Few seconds later, I spot Kimali running in my direction.
"Yuh good? Are you hurt?"
"No. Are you o—"
"Yeah, we affi leff yasso." He heads around the passenger's side.
Where even was he?
People are still screaming and running about the place.
Turning to Kimali as he drives out of the parking lot like we have nine lives, I ask him a question.
Right now? My heart? Is still at my mouth. I'm petrified.
"Where were you? Why didn't you leave me in here?"
He doesn't answer. Oh.
He keeps looking behind us as he drives. I'm guessing to see if we're being followed.
I'm really trying to keep my kool and be 'militant', honestly.
Upon taking another turn, Kimali's phone starts ringing.
