This place had treated you like a bad luck space. Things never seemed to go your way.
When you were mentally a year old in human age, a chaos kin had invaded Skyworld , possessing you and sending you to destroy much of the structures and land that resided there. After the events, Palutena, the goddess you had previously served, decided that you had to be sent down to the Underworld, due to breaking the listed info in the Skyworld rulebook, deeming you a fallen angel and you had to serve under Hades, Lord of the Underworld, instead.
That was the last time you would ever see Palutena or Pit, or so you thought.
You're mentally fifteen now. The events of the fight with the goddess of light had left a mark on you as your chest was filled with scars and bruises, covered under your chiton and tank top. You had fought your best, but you didn't even do much. You didn't even see Pit or Palutena in the war. Now both Medusa and Pandora were gone, so it felt pretty lonely here...and Hades may be in ridiculously bad shape, but you were still serving him at the time.
No matter. As you fiddled with the marbles on the glassy floor, which were the only thing you brought with you to the dark terrain, you were coming up with a plan to get out of here once and for all.
The only way to get out was that golden door near the top, or so it seems. Palutena was the only one who could open those doors, and you bet she wouldn't open it any time soon.
So before you were taken the Underworld, you had given a friend a star-shaped item that you wanted him to keep safe. You put it in his hands and said... "I'll be back," before you were tossed down the door.
On your belt was an identical one that was your ticket to getting out of here. It needed speed to charge up, so you had to fly.
You stuffed the marbles into your drawstring bag and grabbed your (F/C) bow, a prototype you made yourself after you were stripped of your weapons. You took them both with you as you began to look up at the mist that surrounded a cold, empty, boundary: The City of Souls.
Hades approached you with his usual flamboyant stance, both of your faces glowing in the blue light.
"What are you doing, my fallen angel?"
"Just looking up at the city," you responded nonchalantly, "I want to take a view up there."
"Go right ahead," Hades said, clapping his hands, "Just don't be there too long. You know I'll have a task for you soon."
"I know."
Your black wings, which were white hundreds of years ago, spread as you took flight into the city of souls. The wind sent a chill down your body and you can almost hear the dead souls calling out to you.
This is it.
You began to soar up to the dark clouds, going with all your speed, not letting the thoughts of getting caught get to you. Behind you, Monoeyes started to circle you. You equipped your (f/c) bow and began to fire shadowy-like arrows at them, knocking them away as you continued to speed forward. The device was beginning to charge up. That's when a huge whale-like beast got in your way, knocking you off balance.
You flailed in the air as you came to process your surroundings, when you saw the soul-eating monster in front of you. It seemed uncharacteristically vicious, while it kept trying to attack you left and right. It's as if...
Then you heard a voice in your head. It was Hades. He was speaking to you telepathically.
"Did you think you'd get so far in the City of Souls enough for me to just say 'Oh yeah, my angel's just flying around, not like they'll try to sneak out!' You're not escaping from my wrath. No fallen angel escapes from MY WRATH."
You've been caught.
The soul-eating monster kept trying to relentlessly pull you down back to the ground, as you kept dodging it while trying to evade it. This wasn't easy...no matter how many times you flew around, the fiend kept pulling you back with each charge.
"This wasn't my ideal escape route!" You yelled as you kept trying to shoot arrows of darkness at the flying enemy. But the monster was fast, so it was hard to land a hit.
You finally landed a couple arrows on the monster, making it stumble back. With no time to waste, you kept flying. It was almost fully charged...come on...
But then the soul-eating monster came back. It's mouth caught you by the wings as you struggled to get out of it's grasp.
"LET GO!"
You tried to shake it off. You really did. You tried so hard, but it wasn't enough. It began to pull you back down.
In a desperate movement, you separated your bow into a pair of twin blades, just like how any Skyworld bow would be crafted. You slashed them at the monster, as it let out a bellowing screech. And yet it still didn't let you get away that easily.
RRIIIIPP!
There was a brief tearing noise. You could feel the feathers forced away from you. You don't know what happened, but your wings were clearly damaged.
But there's no way you could stop now. Despite how painful it was to fly with your bad shaped wings, you flew faster and faster, the device ready to use.
"See you never, Hades."
There was a loud bass sound emanating from the device as you felt the warp as a success. Though there seemed to be a strange thing...you went to the air instead of somewhere on Skyworld. That's when you saw the second piece of the device falling beside you.
Did he throw the device away? There's no way he gave up on you coming back...
There was no time to think about that. All you had to do was find a floating platform to land on. You caught the second piece of the device and sped up to the nearest island. However, as you went up, you could feel a weird pain in your wings. Then that's when they began to catch fire. Your eyes widened at the embers emanating from them.
"Oh no."
This was bad. Really bad.
