Last night, you were too lazy to put your chiton back on. You just went to your dorm and flopped face first on the bed in the vine-filled room, and went to sleep almost instantly. Then came morning, and you were the first to wake up. You went out of the room, grabbing your chiton from the vines on the wall, and at least, attempted to fix it around you.

But wrapping your chiton around your body was frustrating. Usually you have Medusa to help you fix it up. Unfortunately, you're now struggling with it alone. Even worse, Dark Pit was watching you from the corner, and it was merely embarrassing.

The doppelganger sighed, walking up to you. "Here. Let me help."

"I can-"

Before you could protest, Dark Pit went on one knee and carefully wrapped your toga around your body just the way it was before Phosphora untied it. You two were unaware of the three commanders watching you both. You then easily put your fastener on your right shoulder.

"See? That wasn't that bad."

"...thanks- uh- HEY! WHAT ARE YOU THREE STARING AT?!"

Adolf and Cragalanche immediately looked away in shame. Phosphora, however, was untouched by your outburst.

"Oh, nothing. Just you two being...you."

"If I hear anything related to the word romance I will kick your butt," Dark Pit threatened with gritted teeth. Phosphora responded with a shrug.

Your chiton was fixed just in time for Viridi to come down the stairs.

"Dark Pit, (y/n), it's time for your first mission together."

You put on a goofy smile. "Yes, yes! This is going to be-"

"Though this one might be tough since it's more of a sense of urgency."

The thought made you shudder. Dark Pit walked forward for a rebuttal.

"You sure she'll be up to the test?"

"As long as you're there with her. Now, I said the word 'urgency,' so get up here already!"

You and Dark Pit exchanged looks before following Viridi up the stairs. Viridi created a set of colored vines on the table smack in the middle of the briefing room to depict what was happening. It was a stone plateau, which looked dead all around it. Then she said the most unexpected thing.

"The Chaos Kin is back."

"WHAT?!"

Dark Pit and you said that at the same time. You looked at each other in surprise to your responses.

"You know the Chaos Kin?!" you exclaimed, pointing at him.

"You were in the Underworld for over a hundred years! How could YOU possibly know it?!"

"STOP!"

You and Dark Pit stopped your verbal surprise and settled down.

"Right then," Viridi said, clearing her throat, "This rocky area was the last seen position of the it. It broke back through the sealing vortex. You two need to head there immediately. I'm assuming you also have experience with it, (y/n)?"

You nod your head. "Yeah. I do. It's a dangerous thing. It can possess the body of anything it takes, but it has to remove the soul of it first."

"That's right," The Goddess of Nature responded, slightly impressed, "Alright then! I'll take you both near the mountain by the plateau so we can take it by surprise. Now, pick your weapon before I send you two off."

"I'll take my staff," said Dark Pit, "(y/n), you want to try a different-"

"Nah. If this is the Chaos Kin we're dealing with, I've gotta take the only weapon I have experience with," you say, picking up your (f/c) bow.

"Right...of course."

"Good luck out there you two lovebirds!" said Phosphora from the corner of the room.

The two of you flushed. Seems she is not afraid to try to provoke anyone. Dark Pit stomped towards her furiously. "WHAT DID I TELL YOU NOT TO SAY-"

"Alright, up you go."

Viridi sent you both out using her goddess abilities to lift you out of the forest before Dark Pit would lash out any further. She set you both by the foot of a small mountain.

"The plateau's on the summit," the girl explained telepathically, "I'll grant you the power of flight Dark Pit, and I want you two to fly quietly. QUIETLY. Take breaks to keep your wings from burning. When you two arrive there, I'll create a barrier to keep it from escaping. Turn that thing into ash and we'll seal it away!"

"Right!" said you both.

You spread your wings while Dark Pit's glowed a bright green as he followed after you, keeping a close distance and staying quiet. But he decided to make conversation with you in whispers.

"So how do you know the Chaos Kin anyway?"

"I was going to ask you the same thing," you muttered back.

"You first." said the Raven.

You sighed, "The reason I was banished from the Underworld was that the Chaos Kin possessed me when I was mentally one. It sent my body to destroy a lot of Skyworld. After it escaped from my body, Palutena had no choice but to send me down."

"That's...harsh. Wow."

"Yeah yeah, she had to do it according to the "Skyworld Rulebook." A bunch of baloney if you ask me. I felt bad for Pit..."

"Pit Stain was there?"

"Yep. We were childhood friends. He was absolutely saddened we were separated. But enough of that, what's your story with it?"

"Well, that 'day?' You know, I told you about when I saved you?"

You shot up your eyebrows in curiosity. The two of you stopped at a mountain cliff to allow your wings to cool off, as you sat down with crossed legs, bent on listening.

"Do tell."

Dark Pit sighed. "The first time we had to seal away the Chaos Kin, the remaining ash tried to take over my body as I fell into the Vortex. Pit rushed down to save me, his wings catching fire in the process."

"I see. I remember him telling me he couldn't fly on his own."

"Mhm. There was only one way to save him. I had to dip his wings in the rewind spring afterwards in the City of Souls. I think that event must've traumatized him. We had a duel once, then a human nearby sprung up a campfire and he immediately jumped."

Your lip was quivering. "Gosh, I feel sorry for both of you..."

You leaned forward and hugged him. Dark Pit gasped at your sudden contact. But he decided to embrace you for a while.

"Me too," he mumbled into your shoulder. "Can't believe one thing can be so destructive."

"Yeah."

"Awww, what a heartfelt moment!" interrupted Viridi in both of your heads.

"You shut up," growled Dark Pit.

You let go of each other, then spread both of your wings again, flying higher once more. But this time, Dark Pit held your hand in the moment. His touch was surprisingly...warm. You were surprised at his gesture, and Dark Pit noticed.

"Don't ask."

"Okay, I won't," you remarked with a giggle.

After a few minutes and a couple breaks, you two reached the summit, you taking out your bow, Dark Pit taking out his staff.

Then you found it. A terrifying monster with a hard brown shell, bearing one eye with a dilated red pupil and a yellow eye. It had some sort of green aura with it, connected to a body with six bladed spider-like legs. It stood on a spine shaped tail with a sickle blade on the end.

"There it is!" pointed Dark Pit. But he was not the only one that said that. And it wasn't you.

You both turned left for the source of the voice. It was an angel that looked strangely identical to Dark Pit. With blue eyes, brown hair, a white chiton...

"Pit?!"

"Pit Stain?!"

"Pittoo?! (y-y/n)?!"
