The alarm on he bedside table has been ringing since the last two minutes as Jungkook kept staring at it. Sleep had taken a leave from his body a long time ago, rendering his head available to the crawling and chewing thoughts that didn't subside from an evening two days ago.
He felt like he was swimming through a sea of broken glass. A constant reminder of the choice of altering his reality stayed with him; so did the rationally predicted uncanny outcomes.
Jungkook needed to breathe and so he did; getting enough sense of reality on the process and slamming shut the alarm clock. He tossed and turned around on his bed to get a comfortable position because no matter what awaited him for the day, good or bad, he didn't want to get up at all.
There was one thing that Taehyung didn't mention. Or didn't find necessary to mention having known about Jungkook's thought process already.
Being a spouse means legal right to all of his property too.
"Fuck..." Jungkook cursed breathlessly and buried his face on the pillow; doing what he has been since the moment Taehyung proposed him.
He proposed him.
Even looming over the idea inside his head felt daunting. And if that's not already taxing enough, next comes the coinhabitation with Taehyung. If Jungkook were an outsider it probably wouldn't have been so complicated; but amalgamation of professional and personal life together has never been good for anyone. There is also a factor that life with Taehyung, if he marries him, will also be nothing less than a professional situationship, as hilarious as that sounds. There will only be a hoax of domesticity for the world to see; that too only for the benifit of Taehyung in the expense of Jungkook's mental peace.
He dreaded, if thinking about this is such a stress, Lord knows how the real experience will be like.
But there comes the glitter of success and fame; the prime target of Jungkook's life. He will bathe in gold and silver in that tentative future; buy clavin klein underwears; do keratin treatment in his hair and buy a penthouse in the middle of the city - all at the cost of normalcy and dare he say, emotional security.
Jungkook is well aware of the borderline strength and fragility of his own mind that ironically allowed him to foresee how badly he's going to make a fool out of himself. But then again, when has human mind been idiotic enough to deject the temptation of the devil? That too in the form of someone so ridiculously attractive and handsome and smart and...
He felt his cheek burn up and turned over to lay on his stomach. His morning energy hasn't spiked up yet so he took in a couple of deep breaths. Hopefully a hot cup of black coffee will take this away because time won't freeze and he needs to get back to his job and face the inevitable one way or another.
----------
Avoiding looking at the top of the company building was the most sensible thing to do because Jungkook didn't want to read 'Celeste' as 'In Laws'. He even took the bus today instead of his Harley Davidson in order to not let anyone know about his arrival; because his self awareness wasn't helping him to idealize that everyone in the God damn complex is not looking for him.
The ivory Mercedes Benz told Jungkook that Mr. secretary was present today despite of the leave he requested.
Does he know?
Kim Taehyung is capable of maintaining a secrecy of this magnitude but Jimin is no best friend for no reason either.
He is going to tease the fuck out of Jungkook if he tells him. And then give him some life advice and tell him to back away from the snake pit immediately.
