Ch.20: The Last Wish

THE DAYS TURNED into weeks, & despite the small victories & moments of joy, Mya's health continued to decline. Nick & Priyanka spent every waking moment by her side, determined to make her remaining time as full of love & happiness as possible.

One morning, as the family sat together in the hospital room, Mya looked up at her parents with a serious expression. "Mommy, Daddy, can I ask you something?"

Priyanka immediately moved closer, her voice gentle. "Of course, sweetheart. What is it?"

Mya hesitated for a moment, then spoke softly. "I've been thinking about a wish. One last wish."

Nick's heart ached at her words, but he nodded, his voice steady. "Tell us, Mya. We'll do everything we can to make it come true."

Priyanka's eyes filled with tears. "We'll make it happen, Mya. I promise."

Nick squeezed her hand, determination in his eyes. "We'll make the arrangements today."

Dr. Johnson, who had been standing quietly in the corner, stepped forward. "I think that's a wonderful idea. We'll work with the hospital to make sure everything is safe & comfortable for Mya."

Over the next few days, plans were put into motion. The hospital arranged for a special transport & a team of medical professionals to accompany the family. With the support of their friends & family, everything was prepared for Mya's beach trip.

Finally, the day arrived. Mya was filled with excitement as they helped her into the ambulance. "We're going to the beach!" she exclaimed, her eyes shining with anticipation.

Nick & Priyanka sat beside her, their hearts full. "Yes, we are, sweetheart," Priyanka said, holding her hand. "It's going to be a beautiful day."

The journey was smooth, & soon they arrived at a private stretch of beach, arranged with the help of their friends in the entertainment industry. The ocean stretched out before them, the waves gently lapping at the shore.

Mya's eyes widened with wonder as they brought her closer to the sand. "It's so beautiful," she whispered, tears of joy in her eyes.

Nick lifted her gently, carrying her to a comfortable beach chair set up with pillows & blankets. Priyanka settled beside her, holding her hand. "Welcome to the beach, Mya."

Mya smiled, feeling the warm sand between her toes. "I love it."

Their friends & family gathered around, creating a circle of love & support. Joe & Kevin brought out a guitar, starting to play a soft melodic tune. Selena & Demi arrived with ice cream & snacks, adding to the festive atmosphere.

"Hey, Mya," Joe called, smiling. "What do you think of our little concert on the beach?"

Mya giggled, her eyes shining. "It's perfect. Thank you, Uncle Joe."

As the afternoon turned into evening, the sky began to change colors, the sun setting in a glorious display of oranges, pinks, & purples. Mya watched in awe, her heart full.

"Look at the sky, Mommy," Mya said, pointing to the horizon. "It's like a painting."

Priyanka nodded, tears streaming down her cheeks. "It's beautiful, Mya. Just like you."

Nick sat beside them, holding both their hands. "We're so proud of you, Mya. You've brought so much joy & love into our lives."

Mya looked at her parents, her eyes filled with love. "I'm so happy. I'm so happy to be here with you."

As the stars began to twinkle in the night sky, Nick & Priyanka held Mya close, their hearts breaking but filled with gratitude for every precious moment.

"Mommy, Daddy," Mya whispered, her voice growing weaker. "I love you both so much. Thank you for everything."

"We love you too, Mya," Priyanka said, her voice trembling. "More than words can say."

Nick kissed her forehead, his tears falling onto her soft skin. "You'll always be in our hearts, Mya. Forever."

Mya closed her eyes, a peaceful smile on her lips. "Forever," she whispered, her breathing slowing.

As the waves gently lapped at the shore, Mya took her final breath, surrounded by the love of her family & friends. The stars shone brightly overhead, a reminder of the light she had brought into her lives.

Nick & Priyanka held each other, their hearts shattered but filled with the profound love they had shared with their precious daughter. The beach, the ocean, & the stars bore witness to their final promise to Mya; to carry her love with them always, finding strength in every memory & every moment they had cherished together.

And as the night wrapped them in its embrace, they knew that Mya's spirit would forever be a part of them, shining brightly in their hearts & guiding them with her love.
