With his eyes slowly starting to open, Hayden was lying comfortably on Taurus's bed as he heard the loud banging on the front door. Reacting swiftly, he got out of bed. As he hurriedly made his way through the hallway, he put on his tee shirt. Observing Taurus slowly rise from the couch and emitting a sleepy groan, within the darkness in the living room as the porch light projected a silhouette onto an individual outdoors.

"Open the fucking door Taurus, I know you're sleeping bitch ass nigga!" Someone yelled angrily, his hand still banging on the door.

"Stay inside, Hayden.." Taurus demanded, his hand motioned the young male to stay inside.

Taurus slid his tee shirt on and grabbed his gun quickly, swung the door open, pistol-whipping the male in the face, blood splattered everywhere. The light-skinned male's back fell on the concrete, and a solid thud filled the air, but Rakeem didn't back down.

He punched Taurus in the face and blood splattered across his tee shirt. Taurus hissed in pain but punched him again.

The transition from night to morning occurred gradually as he woke up in the middle of the night and recalled the events. Surprisingly, he had not anticipated anyone daring to disturb Taurus.

But not everyone was afraid of him, Rakeem and his family. It was decided that somebody had to stand up to him.

"What the fuck you've got to say now bitch? Huh, Rakeem?" Taurus shouted, gripping the man by his collar.

Hayden's eyes widen at the sight, almost flinching. He'd almost forgotten that he spent the night here. His stomach became queasy from watching the scene unfold, bringing back old memories of the same chaos he tired to escape, Taurus wasn't the same childhood friend Hayden remembered, these were his true colors.

He wasn't the feared one? the guy everyone whispered about in hushed tones. Rumors of his past followed him like a shadow. But Hayden never seen him as a threat; he was just a childhood acquaintance who'd faded into the background of his life.
