Hayden's back leaned against the wall with his eyes fixed on his aunt, hearing her feminine voice spew lectures of discipline and responsibility, nodded in response as he should be. Her arms wrapped around him tightly, and her face softened yet remained stern, the pair stood in the spacious living room.

"And what you did learn?" Aunt Janet asked sternly, her arms crossed. Knowing that she was right about this situation the whole time.

"Taurus only brings trouble to my life and I need to stay on the right path, stay away from him." Hayden recited with a dry tone, pursing his lips in annoyance.

He couldn't place the blame on his aunt either, as she was correct - it was evident that he wasn't cut out for a life on the streets, and neither was Taurus. He wasn't a rebel at heart, contrary to what he claimed, and Taurus certainly wasn't the intimidating figure that he portrayed himself to be.

But still Hayden remembers the kiss and the confessions between them lingered fresh in his mind, his tongue gliding over his lips as if he could taste him again.

"Good to know, now here is the aftermath. He's got everything to lose and you've got everything to gain by staying away from him. Don't let anyone drag you down." Aunt Janet's tone softened, her eyes filled with concern for her nephew.

Hayden nodded again, this time with a sense of determination in his eyes. "I promise, Aunt Janet. I'll stay away from Taurus and focus on my future."

With a small smile, Aunt Janet patted Hayden's shoulder. "I'm proud of you, Hayden. You have so much potential, don't let it go to waste."

But deep down, he knew that the memory of Taurus and the forbidden feelings he stirred within him would not easily fade.

As long as trouble didn't come Hayden's way then everything would be perfectly fine. The brown-skinned woman with brown curls that bounced at her back, Janet appeared in a black suit and her hand clutching the suitcase greeted him with a friendly smile.

But still Hayden remembers the kiss and the confessions between them lingered fresh in his mind, his tongue gliding over his lips as if he could taste him again.

Hayden must have had a hold on Taurus like a chokehold and he was in need of oxygen from him, desiring Hayden's presence desperately.

"Mhmm, two days with that nigga and all hell breaks loose, now let's go get fill out some job applications. That way you'll earn money and become independent." Janet stated firmly, gently patting his shoulder.

Hayden ponder on his interests involving employment, it was the summer in Florida and there were people hiring. But which one? His interests included cars, technology, and art.

"I still like cars, Aunt Janet. How about that?" Hayden asked in a curious tone, his eyebrows raised at him.

"See, that's a great start, keep the bills paid around here honey," she sang playfully, smiling as her nephew did the same action.

"How about a part-time job in an auto repair shop? You can learn more about cars and make some money at the same time," Janet suggested, leading Hayden towards the door.

Hayden thought for a moment, considering the idea. "That actually sounds pretty cool. I could learn a lot and maybe even save up for a car of my own."

As they stepped out of the house and into the bright Florida sunshine, Hayden felt a sense of optimism wash over him. The two of them stepped into the car and peeled away from the house, his eyes gazed through the tinted window. Spotting Taurus and Kareem fighting on the porch again, while a group of men with Rakeem showed up.

Hayden shook his head at the scene and turned his attention to the road, he needed to separate himself from Taurus as much as possible. Starting with a different house or apartment for himself.

And who knows, maybe he would finally be able to leave the feelings behind as well. The sound of cars passing by filled the air.

After filling out the job application and going on a job interview, dressed in formal attire in the auto repair shop. after getting a recent call from them. He was introduced to an older black woman and her father who owned an auto repair shop.

"Hello there Hayden, I'm Angela and this is my dad, Michael." Angela introudcted kindly, shaking the young male's hand.

"Hello, Thank you for this opportunity" Hayden thanked them, shaking their hands.

After the interview was successful. Angela passed him his short-sleeve black coveralls with his name written in cursive on the right, a wave of reilef washed over him. Happy to have gotten the job.

"Here are our other employees, there is Tyquian, Devin, Michelle, Alicia, JT and Genesis."

His eyes landed on Devin, the brown-skinned young male who had his brown locs pulled back in a ponytail, his slim yet muscular frame caught his attention, nose and lips and light brown eyes. The pearly white smile on cue for Hayden and black glasses rested behind his face.

To Hayden, he was cute. In a nerdy way. "It's nice to meet you Devin." Hayden greeted kindly.

"It's nice to meet you too." Devin greeted back.

Hayden returned the next day to the car shop, washing the car in a circular motion. Heading for the break room with Devin.

"So, how did you end up working here?" Hayden asked, genuinely interested in Devin's story.

Devin chuckled, taking a sip of his water bottle before replying."Well, I've been around cars my whole life, so it just made sense for me to work here and learn the ropes."

Hayden nodded, impressed. "That's really cool. l've always had a passion for cars, but I never had the chance to learn more about them until now."
Devin smiled, a twinkle in his eye. "Well, you're in the right place. Angela and her dad are great teachers, and the team here is like family."
As they continued talking,

A familiar car pulled up into the parking lot, and the dark-skinned male with his locs stepped out of the vehicle.

Taurus stepped inside the spacious car shop, hearing the sounds the tools drilling, laughter and the engine revving loudly. "Hey Angie, how are you? Um..my A/C hasn't been working lately," Taurus whispered, a hint of embarrassment.

Talking to the owner about his A/C problems, briefly locking eyes with Hayden who was currently speaking to Devin in the break room. Taurus pursed his lips with jealousy brimming.

What was done is done, right?
