THE DOCTOR HUMMED FULL of thoughts as he pressed the stethoscope on Cameron's belly. At every hum he did the two soon to be parents felt their hearts drop in worry.
"Yep! Definitely pregnant", the doctor exclaimed as he put away the stethoscope back in his bag and the two chuckled nervously.
"Yes, that much we figured", Cameron commented.
"It has just kinda taken us by surprise. You know, it just kinda happened suddenly. I mean, almost overnight. I mean... How did this happen?", Bucky asked confused.
"You see, when a man and a woman love each other very much...", the doctor began with a smile.
"Well, we're just tickled pink, or blue", Cameron asked as she stood up with Bucky helping her up, quickly changing the subject.
"You're about four months now. Is that right?", the doctor asked. Cameron nodded while Bucky simply stared in the distance with a frown as he tried to think. When she noticed that he wasn't nodding Cameron softly nudged his shoulder and he looked at her confused before quickly understanding and nodding too.
"I thought as much. We let the little ladies keep tabs on their growing babies with fruit. Makes it simple for them", the doctor said and the two frowned at this. "At four months, the fetus is about as big as a pear. At five months, a papaya. Six, grapefruit. Seven pineapple. Eight, honeydew!"
"Well, um, hypothetically speaking, what fruit would it be at, um, 12 hours?", Bucky asked the doctor.
"Uh, pardon? 12 hours?", the doctor asked confused.
"Never mind my husband, he's just acting silly", Cameron said with a nervous chuckle as she began to lead the sector to the small stairs that led to the door.
