❝Despite the cœur killer's silence, stay on your guard and be vigilant. He may be preparing for something bigger.❞
❝"The police won't be speaking about the subject anymore." says the criminal identification technician, Choi Jong-ho.❞
❝And on top of that, Officer Chris seems to be missing. Has he given up? Has he decided to give up on protecting Beverlywood? Where is he?❞
– Pfft... Seriously. I don't think I've ever met anyone worst than these dumb journalists, other than criminals. As soon as the killer ceases to exist, they fall back on the smallest detail and make it a scandal just to keep the ratings as high as possible.
Chris's father frowns worriedly as he looks at his son.
He was watching the news in the living room while eating his breakfast. He was supposed to be on vacation, away from his job and Beverlywood, but here he was thinking about it again and ruining his own moment of respite.
The black-haired man approaches the television to turn it off and then turns his gaze back to his son.
– Don’t bring Beverlywood and your job here, Chris. You’re home, so don’t bug your mind with that.
He offers him a soft smile to which Chris responds, despite seeming lost in thoughts because of the things said on TV.
The man’s heart tightens a little seeing his son so affected by the news. He sits down next to him and ruffles his hair in hopes of making him crack a real smile.
– Hurry up and eat. Your vacation isn’t over and there's still plenty of things we want to show you and your brother.
This time, Chris looks at his father and nods with a real smile. He was grateful that he still had both his parents and that things were still going so well between them. He knew that others had lived without them and that it was harder for them.
– Let me change and we can go.
