The Maesters had written in history that Saelora Velaryon the trueborn daughter of Ser Laenor Velaryon and Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen, was the one saved the Blacks in Dance of the Dragon.
Saelora single handly gotten allies for her mother. She had gotten Vikings whom her grandsire Viserys I Targaryen had became friends with during his reign. The Vikings were lead by Ragnar Lothbrok.
The second bit of allies that Saelora found were in another continent called Middle Earth. She had gathered elves, dwarves, ents fairies, hobbits, men, and somehow the dragon Smaug who became her second dragon whom she had claimed.
Smaug being way bigger than both Balerion and Vhagar combined was much helpful for the Blacks. Vhagar had refused to listen to Aemond and refused to continue the war.
But her heart was in love with two different people. Ivar the Boneless a viking and the last son of Ragnar Lothbrok. And Legolas Greenleaf an elf and son of King Thranduil of Mirkwood.
It was told she was once betrothed to Aemond Targaryen, her uncle. But she had made it very well known since the start she didn't like him. Her parents ended the betrothal after hearing her complains of being betrothed to him.
It was also told that while she was away getting allies no one sent a letter to her telling her about the death of her younger brother Lucerys Velaryon or her grandmother, Rhaenys Targaryen.
It was said that when Saelora came home she went into a rage and wanted to avenge her brother and grandmother. It was also rumoured she had wanted to murder Aemond.

Saelora Velaryon was standing in the council room with her brothers, Jacaerys and Lucerys beside her. Her stepsisters/cousins, Rhaena and Baela were also standing with the three siblings.
"What is our standing?" Rhaenyra asked looking over the table.
"We have knights, a hundred crossbowmen, and men-at-arms. Dragonstone is relatively easy to defend, but as an instrument of conquest, our army leaves a lot to be desired." Daemon replied. "We have sent word to my loyal men in the City Watch. I'll have some support there, but I cannot speak to the numbers."
"We already have declarations from Celtigar and Staunton, Massey, Darklyn, Bar Emmon." Saelora spoke as she points to each house who declared themselves to her mother.
"My lady mother was an Arryn." Rhaenyra said looking at her daughter with a smile. "The Vale will not turn cloak against their own kin."
"Riverrun was always a close friend to your father, Your Grace." Maester Gerardys said. "With Prince Daemon's acquiescence, I've already sent ravens to Lord Grover."
"Lord Grover is fickle and easily swayed." Daemon said.
"So he will need to be convinced of the strength of our position and that we will support him should it come to war." Rhaenyra replied. "I'm going to treat with him myself."
