𝟎𝟓, '𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞' 𝐤𝐢𝐝𝐬

CHAPTER FIVE

MINHO WAS driving around the golf course in a stolen golf cart. Thomas and Maliah were squeezed together in the passenger side, with Maliah practically sitting on his lap.

The golf cart moved slowly, but Minho and Thomas yelled dramatically every time they were close to crashing.

"Someone needs to remind Minho not to drive again." Maliah muttered.

"Be careful with the golf poles!" Maliah shouted at him as he swerved sharply to avoid hitting one

Thomas was laughing at Minho's horrible driving skills–it was one of her favorite sounds.

Eventually, Minho parked the car back in its spot, hoping their boss wouldn't notice that they were goofing around instead of closing up the country club.

They got down from the golf cart "Man, that was awesome! Next time, we need more people." Minho said.

"Yeah, so I don't get stuck with you two idiots again." Maliah spoke, stretching her legs.

"Who are you calling dumb, Mar mm?" Thomas asked, raising an eyebrow as he leaned closer to her.

"You. You do plenty of dumb stuff—and I don't mean academically."

"Well of course not academically. Also, I'm not doing stupid stuff, just fun stuff." Thomas grinned

Maliah rolled her eyes "Aha, anyways. I still can't believe the boss just gave Minho the keys because he looks 'responsible'" She laughed, shaking her head

"Yes, I am responsible, see I have the keys," Minho said confidently, he reached into his pocket, and he couldn't find anything

"You were saying?" She raised her eyebrows and smirked, pulling the keys from her pocket and tossing them to him.

"Stole the keys from you and you didn't even notice," Maliah added and Minho looked at the keys in disbelief.

"Should I be concerned?" Thomas asked

"Jeez, since when did you become a professional thief?" Minho asked as they walked towards the tennis table.

Later that night after driving around with the golf cart and playing Tennis, where she managed to hit Thomas multiple times with the tennis ball.

She sat on the passenger seat of his car, on her phone typing something on it.

DAD 🦐

"Hii, I'm on my way home, love you!"

Her dad replied just with a thumbs-up emoji, and she turned off her phone, glancing at Thomas who was focused on the street.

"So, do you have anything else planned for this summer besides working?" Maliah asked him

"Plenty," Thomas said, glancing her way for a second. "I'm taking you to the fair on Sunday. Then in a couple of weeks, I'm planning a camping trip for the whole group to go"

"Oh yeah, you mentioned that one camping site once." She answered as she looked out the window

"Yeah? You remember that?" He asks surprised, and Maliah nods in response and he holds back a smile.

"Also" she added, "you didn't ask me if I wanted to go to either of those. Who said I'm going?"

"I said so," Thomas replied smugly, "if you had any plans, cancel them."

It was impossible to say no to him. And honestly, she didn't want to.

As her house came into view, Maliah noticed an expensive black car pulling out from her driveway.

"Who's that?" Thomas asked, eyeing the door closed.

"No clue." She replied, squinting her eyes trying to look into the window, but they were tinted. She couldn't make out who was inside, and it already drove far from them.

Thomas parked in front of her house, and Maliah raised an eyebrow. "You know you could've parked in your driveway, and I would've just walked here. it's like less than a minute walk."

"I know, but why do that when I can drop you off right in front of the door?" he said with a playful grin

She smiled "Well, thank you Steph."

"You're welcome, Mar." She leaned in, pressing a quick kiss on his cheek before getting out of the car.

A/N;

short chapter, also the first few chapters nothing interesting has happened but I swear this book will have a few plot twists!

Also, my writing is currently horrible, but this is one of my first books so I'm hoping it will get better over time
