'Anna.' Lucians panicked voice echoed, bringing me back to the room.

My vision was blurred as I tried to blink away the tears to see my husband standing in front of me. He wore a look I'd only ever seen on his face once before, when he thought I would drown in his pool.

'Lucian?' I breathed in a quiet whisper, too weak to speak any louder as a tear slide down my cheek.

How was he here? He found me. He found me and came to save me from this insanity. I could feel myself starting to well as he dropped to his knees in front of me, running his hands over my body to make sure I was alright.

'I'm going to get you out of here.' He says to me as he unties the binding, wrapped around my wrist and ankles.

'But...' I start to protest, fearing that Gabriela was somewhere waiting to pounce.

'You don't have to worry about her, Anna. I'm here now.' He tells me with a smooth calmness to his voice. A smoothness that didn't match his uneven breathing as he tried to keep up the calm façade.

I look over his shoulder to see Gabriela on the floor, rising to her hands and knees as she threw Lucian a look that could kill. She bared her teeth in a vicious snarl that was aimed right at the back of my husbands head.

'Lucian.' I tried to warn him as she rose to her feet behind him.

'It's okay.' He uttered, not turning to see what I was looking at as he pulled on the rope, tying me to the chair.

'Lucian!' I said with more alarm in my voice as Gabriela started to stalk over to us.

'It's fine.' He said back to me as he tried to clam me.

My breathing was erratic as he carefully untied my wrists, focusing all his attention on me and ignoring the danger that was behind him. But just as she got close enough to do anything a man walked into the room behind her and shouted her name, freezing her to the spot.

'Gabriela!' The voice boomed, causing an echo in the nearly empty room.

She spun on her heels with a look of horror on her face as she spotted the man walking into the room. I didn't recognise him, but Gabriela sure did as he dropped her shoulders a few inches at the sight of his presence. He was an older man, but by no means weak. He wore a smart looking suit and a serious expression on his face as he looked at the women cowering in front of him.

'Daddy?' She almost whispered as she straightened her back and plastered a fake smile on her face for him, like she had done nothing wrong.

'What the fuck do you think you're doing?' He hissed at her.

'I...' She started to say as her turned to look at Lucian and I before turning back to the man.

The smile quickly dropped from her face as she realised there was no way of explaining herself. I tried to listen to what was going on. I wanted to know who he was and why he had such an effect on her, but it was hard to focus on what was going on in the room when Lucian untied my arm and lifted my hand up for him to inspect. A shot of pain slivered up my arm from my finger as it almost hung free from the rest of my hand.

'Lucian?' I cried looking at my mangled finger.

'We need to get you to the hospital.' He tells me as he inspects my hand, with a scowl on his face, ignoring what was happening behind him.

Lucian rips his top free from his body as he wraps the material around my hand, causing a hiss to escape my lips. I clung my hand to my chest, holding onto the fabric willing the pain to stop as Lucian pushes his hands underneath me, lifting me into his arms.  His chest was warm and comforting as he carried me through the room and past the man who was shouting at a submissive Gabriela. As we left her behind in the dungeon she imprisoned me in, I finally felt safe for the first time in days. The wave of emotions that washed over my body caused a torrent of tears to fall as I realised I wasn't going to die, not today anyway.

'But daddy.' I heard Gabriela protest as Lucian walked through the door into a dimly lit hallway.

'No.' The man shouted flatly. 'You fucked up and we will talk about this when we get home.'

That was the last part I hurt as Lucian started to climb a set of stair, bringing me into the light of day that gleamed through the windows.

I held my hand to my chest, trying my best to cope with the pain, but despite every care Lucian took to make sure I was comfortable the pain was too much as everything went black, plunging me in my unconscious, where I was back in the room, reliving Gabriela all over again.
