i was now making eye contact with the villain whose dna test results i had just received, my body frozen in shock.

dabi.

"w-what the fuck are you doing in my lab?" i asked softly, still locking eyes with him. he had the same beautiful blue eyes that touya had, but they looked dead.

"that's no way to speak to your late partner," dabi said, grabbing my chin. "i wanted to come see for myself what you were up to, and, of course, steal your documents."

i quickly activated both of my self-defense wristbands, preparing to strike while trying to secretly dial hawks with them.

"you're no partner of mine," i said still in denial, swinging my fist toward him. "you are not touya, you sick fuck."

he dodged my punch and grabbed my forearm, unimpressed, giving me a sly look and smirking.

"fighting wasn't always your best. i don't want to hurt you, sweetheart. please don't underestimate me," he said, leaning closer to my face, his eyes flickering with amusement as blue flames danced at his fingertips. "if i did, i would've killed you instantly."

i pushed dabi off and tried to hit him again, but he was incredibly agile, dodging every attempt. he was right, i was never a good fighter since i never really trained for it, that was why i had these wristbands on, to help me, yet he was holding back, only making a mess in my lab as we fought.

"you can't take anything, dabi. you'll only get yourself in trouble," i said, my body growing tired from the struggle. dabi grabbed my arms and held me tight, preventing any escape.

"well then, you'll be a good girl and do as i say," dabi said, walking me toward my desk and pointing at the papers. "let this be a warning."

i began to feel a slight burning sensation on my forearms. it was painful but i tried my best to tolerate it.

"okay. okay!" i nodded in agreement to his threat while wincing in pain.

after a few more seconds, dabi let me go. i looked down and noticed the small burn marks engraved on my arms, which dabi admired with a smirk.

"it's time for me to go, sweetheart," dabi said, walking toward the exit of my office. "it's a shame our lovely reunion was cut short."

i turned to face him, watching as he suddenly vanished into the night. i immediately tried to treat my burn marks before hawks or anyone else could see them.

moments later, hawks burst into the lab, his wings flaring out as he landed.

"what happened, y/n?" hawks asked, his eyes scanning the room for threats.
