"Savi!" Ishaan called out, trying to catch up to Savi, who was purposely walking faster; she was avoiding Ishaan. "Savi, stop! Please!" Savi reached a room and tried to close the door behind her but Ishaan blocked by his foot, "what's wrong with you?" Savi looked anywhere but at Ishaan, "Nothing!" Ishaan pushed the door with enough force to open it. Savi moved back and stood with her back to Ishaan. Ishaan closed the door behind him, "you are hiding from me. Why?" Savi bit her lower lip and said nothing. How can she say that she didn't like Reeva touching him? She disliked them together! Ishaan sighed and moved to stand behind her, "Savi, I apologise if I did anything wrong." Savi inhaled sharply; his presence and warmth were like a sun during the winters, a soothing balm to the coldness. She softly said, "You didn't do anything wrong. I am wrong. I am being weird. You and Reeva ma'am are fianceé--" "Stop, Savi! Reeva is my best friend. Nothing more, nothing less. I am not marrying her or anyone except you. Ever!"
Savi's breath hitched, and she struggled to think straight. He wants to marry her? Ishaan stepped closer to her and circled his hand on her waist. His head rested on her right shoulder. Suddenly, he pulled her back, colliding their bodies. Savi's hand flew and rested above his over her lower stomach. Savi closed her eyes, feeling his body heat. His breath was tickling her neck. Savi's breathing turned rapid. Ishaan muttered over her ear lobe, "I love you, Savi. I want you. I want to spend my life with you. I want to grow old with you. I want to become your husband. I want to become yours. Only yours." Savi tightened her hold, and leaned her head back, "Ishaan Sir....." Ishaan hummed, burying his head in her neck. Savi shivered as he nosed down the skin of the column of her neck. Savi was lost in Ishaan's arms and his sweet confession. She forgot the world around her. She was centred in Ishaan. Her head lolled to the side as Ishaan kissed her neck and she gasped.
Ishaan twisted her around and Savi fell on his chest. Their eyes collided, gazes hazy. Savi couldn't help but utter, "I want that too..." Ishaan's eyes were intense, and at her words, they lit up with fire. He leaned in, staring at Savi for any kind of hesitation. Savi closed her eyes, inviting and anticipating. That was all the confirmation Ishaan needed as he closed the distance between their lips. Images, several, of the times when she struggled, was hurt and humiliated mercilessly, flashed behind Savi's eyes, and she pushed Ishaan away before he could kiss her. Ishaan was startled as he staggered back. Savi turned around, running a hand through her hair. "Savi?" Ishaan blinked, carefully observing a restless Savi. "We can't do this!" Savi paced the room, agitated. Ishaan frowned in confusion, "what?!" Savi let out, "We can't be together!" Ishaan was taken aback, "why?" Savi sharply stared at him, "you ask why?" Savi was flabbergasted, "Your family hates me. They are against us together. You denied my love yourself. I am leaving Pune for good." Savi finished counting the reasons on the fingers of her hand. Ishaan walked to where Savi was, "Hold on. All of that is in the past, Savi. Nothing is in between us anymore--" "No!" Savi shook her head, eyes full of pain, "Nothing is fine, Ishaan Sir. Your confession for me changes nothing. All our problems are still present between us as an unbreakable wall."
Ishaan stared into Savi's eyes which were hopeless, pained, and yet determined. Ishaan sighed as he looked away, "What do you want me to say, Savi?" Savi opened her mouth, but Ishaan continued, "You want me to sit back and let you go? Or I should accept your rejection based on these--" Ishaan paused to find suitable words, "--worthless problems, which you are calling an unbreakable wall?" Savi shook her head in denial as she recalled the painful rejection of her hopeful love, her burning tea shop, her humiliation by his family and their constant unacceptance, her struggle for money and income source, and her banning, "You are not understanding." Ishaan's head snapped towards her, "Yes! I don't understand you sometimes! And this is one such time." Ishaan walked to Savi and tenderly held her cheek, rubbing smooth circles on her soft skin, "I am willing to fight everything, to solve every problem between us, to be with you, Savi. In the end, if you are what I get, I don't care what I have to lose or fight." Savi smiled, a small painful uplift of her lips, as she gazed at Ishaan.
Ishaan leaned his forehead against hers and closed his eyes, looking so content. Savi inhaled a long breath, "I am not fighting anymore, Ishaan Sir..." Ishaan's eyes opened in uncertainty, "what?" "I am tired. After what I went through, I don't think I have the strength and courage to even think about--" Savi raised her hand in a gesture to show the problems between them. Ishaan pulled back, eyes staring at her in surprise and disbelief, "Savi, you are a fighter--" "and even I can get wounded enough to stop fighting!" Savi's eyes teared, "Your family, you, everyone put me through so much suffering that I have had enough! I just want to not care anymore!" Ishaan struggled to keep his emotions in control as he heard her. He reached out, " Savi, please, don't say like that. I am sorry, so sorry that I hurt you so much. But don't punish me like this!" Savi removed his hand from her face as she let out, "I am not punishing you! I have decided to leave for good, away from these sufferings and heartbreak." Ishaan stared, looking heartbroken and grieving, "What can I do to change your mind?" Savi let out a pained smile, "Nothing. Please don't stop me. I want to leave. Please." Savi teared up. Ishaan hugged her suddenly, "Don't leave me, Savi. Please."
Savi hugged him, closing her eyes. It seems as if she was memorizing his touch, smell, and him. Ishaan's hold was tight and unrelenting, like he was holding on to her and didn't want to let go. Savi sniffed, "I have decided to leave after you get healed." Ishaan's breath shook, "S-Savi, I --" What was he thinking? In wild desperation, he even wanted to stay injured forever so that Savi could never leave. Savi pulled out of the embrace and looked away. Ishaan stared at her with tearful eyes, "Give me a chance to make everything better between us, solve every problem between us." Savi paused, her eyes held surprise and questions. Ishaan steeled himself, "Let me do everything in my power to change your mind and make you believe in me, in the strength of our love, again, Savi." Savi began to deny when Ishaan said, "I don't want any extra time. Just until I heal. Please." Savi was turmoiled, restless and unsure. She gave it a thought, unable to find any reasonable denial, and came up empty-handed. Staring at Ishaan's determined and hopeful eyes, Savi gave in, "Okay." Ishaan's face broke into a smile, "thank you so much. I promise that I will make you so happy that you will forget everything. Nothing will matter except us and our love."
Savi hoped that too.
