After the long and tiring walk home, which took us longer than normal due to everyone's spirits being low, we arrived back. Except in the middle of camp, there was a huge crowd, all shouting and talking. Bellamy marched his way through, with me in a suit, asking what happened. We all heard one name being mentioned, Murphy. Bellamy rushed into the drop shop after hearing all the allegations with me right behind him.
"Where is he!" Bellamy shouted pushing through the guards who all held their guns tight to their chests. After looking Murphy up and down he shouted "Everyone but Conner and Derek out now!"
I didn't get a chance to see him due to the room being packed with kids but as soon as they filed out I saw him, crouched down in a little corner covered head to toe in blood, the sight of him made me feel sick. The only people that remained were Bellamy, Connor, Derek, Clarke, Finn, Murphy and I.
"He claims he was with the grounders" Derek spoke up first, taking a step closer to Bellamy, still holding his gun tightly.
Then Conner added, "We caught him trying to sneak back into camp."
"I wasn't sneaking," Murphy spoke up for the first time. His voice sounded different, more rough and tired, with less passion than before, but I suppose that's to be expected looking at the state of him "I was running from the grounders," he finished off.
With a stern expression, Bellamy held onto his weapon firmly his eyes examining the state the boys were in "Anyone sees grounders?" Everyone shook their head in unison "Well in that case-" he aimed his gun at Murphy preparing to shoot him.
"Hey, what the hell is wrong with you!" Finn was quick to press the gun downwards.
"We were clear what would happen if he came back," Bellamy sternly stated as he went back to his initial position, seemingly still not forgiving the criminal for his actions that led to Charlotte's suicide. I agreed, I probably shouldn't have but after seeing how Murphy acted that night, it was like a whole other person to the one who saved me, the Murphy that saved me would not make a twelve-year-old girl kill herself.
"No!" Finn snapped back "If he was with the grounders then he knows things that can help us," he explained walking in front of the gun again.
"Help us?" Bellamy asked almost shocked "We hanged him, we banished him, and now we're gonna kill him. Get the hell out of my way," Bellamy uses the tip of his gun to push Finn to the side but then Clarke instantly replaces his spot.
"No, Finn right," Clarke stands up for Finn, but I don't agree with it, any of it.
"Like hell he is!" Bellamy quickly retorts "Clarke think about Charlotte," he adds trying to get sympathy.
"I am thinking about her, but what happened to Charlotte was as much our fault as his," Clarke adds before she turns around towards Murphy. Making her way towards him she lifts his hands "He's not lying, his fingernails were torn, off they tortured him" Clarke shows waving his hand around. It looked awful, there was not an inch of skin In site, only blood
"You and the grounds should compare notes," Finn sarcastically spoke to Bellamy. I gave him a look and he saw it instantly but just shook his head gently.
There was a brief silence before Bellamy began speaking "The grounders know we're at war."
For the first time in the whole conversation, I decided to speak "What did you tell them about us?" I questioned. As soon as the words left my mouth everyone turned to look at me and then back to Murphy. Yet Murphy's eyes were glued to mine.
