Dear Caitlin,
Today was a day of reflection and healing. Mark suggested we visit the old bookstore we used to love, the one where we spent countless hours browsing through shelves of books, lost in our own little world. It was one of our favorite places, and I felt a mix of excitement and sadness at the thought of returning.
As we walked through the aisles, memories of you flooded my mind. I remembered how you would get lost in the pages of a good book, your face lighting up with excitement whenever you discovered a new story. I could almost hear your laughter, see your smile, as I wandered through the familiar rows of books.
Emily found a children's section and settled down with a book, while Mark and I continued to explore. I found myself drawn to the poetry section, a place where we spent so much time together. I picked up a book and started reading, the words resonating deeply with my feelings of loss and love. It was a bittersweet experience, but it felt good to connect with something that reminded me of you.
Toby was with us, his presence a comforting reminder that I'm not alone. He followed me around the store, occasionally nudging my hand with his nose, as if to remind me that he was there. I talked to him about you, about how much you loved this place, and it felt like he understood. His loyalty and love have been a constant source of strength.
Back at home, I felt inspired to create something special. I took out my sketchpad and started drawing a picture of you, Mark, Emily, and Toby together. It felt like a way to capture the love and support I've been surrounded by, a tribute to the people and memories that have helped me heal. As I sketched, I felt a sense of peace, a connection to you that was both comforting and painful.
When I finished, I showed the drawing to Mark and Emily. They both smiled, and Mark said it was a beautiful tribute to our friendship and love. Emily hugged me tightly and said she wished she could have met you. Her words touched my heart deeply, and I felt a sense of hope and gratitude.
The nights are still the hardest, Caitlin. The ache of your absence is always there, but having Mark, Emily, and Toby here has made it a bit more bearable. They've brought a sense of life and hope back into my days, and I'm grateful for their support. I miss you every moment, but I'm finding small ways to heal, to keep moving forward.
I love you more than words can say, Caitlin. I hope you can see how much you are loved and remembered, how your spirit continues to inspire me. I'll keep writing to you, sharing my days, my thoughts, my love. Forever in my heart, Caitlin.
Yours always,
Davin
