Several months had passed since Nori had been taken in by the ninja and Master Wu, and it was still so new to her. No longer was she out in the wild, surrounded by the love of nature and rabid animals— no, she was surrounded by the comfort of people, ones that helped and cared for her when she, in a way, had been so alone before. Curious, Nori had never realized how alone she had been until they gave her sanctuary. That lonesome feeling had surfaced and melted into something warm.
Of course, as much as she loved them all in her own way, she had her favorites; that being the Smith siblings. Kai was the one she adored and chased around like he was family, and Nya.. she looked up to Nya, wanted to be like her. The two teenagers didn't mind though, Nori had grown on them.
The others were amazing too, but Nori thought Jay was a little too loud sometimes. His constant rambling, and the arguing with Cole at the most random of times was not something she appreciated, but she learned to deal with it.. mainly by talking louder than him until the blue ninja got annoyed and shut up.
Zane was unique, and strange yet Nori liked him anyways. He had taught her how to read and write, even helped her to speak better.
The old man was a mystery, he never said anything in a straight line and it annoyed the ninja, which amused the little brunette. Although, when the ninja were busy and Nori had no one to play with, he had taken to introducing her to meditation and light training— for something that he wouldn't explain to her, only saying that she would know when the time is right.
"Fire strike! Haha!" Kai exclaimed with a laugh, tearing her out of her thoughts and bringing her focus to the game the four boys were playing. Right, they were playing a game instead of training. Master Wu was not going to be happy about that.
Cole took a moment to glance at the red ninja as he frantically pressed down the buttons on his controller, huffing in irritation. "Stop trying to do it by yourself, we need to attack as a team!"
Nori watched with interest as the characters onscreen began attacking a larger opponent, followed by Jay's annoyed groan when Zane wasted a special attack.
"Fantastic! I'm out of lives!" The blue ninja said, tossing his controller onto the floor— which Nori immediately went to pick up, causing Jay to swat her hand away. "Hey, no!"
The little brunette stared at him for a moment, and Jay automatically began to freak out knowing what was coming. "No no, Nori, it's okay–"
Nori started to wail, the typical tantrum of a kid who couldn't get their way and the trick of a child who just wanted to be a nuisance.
The other three looked over at what was happening, followed by the door sliding open to reveal Wu who looked anything but pleased.
"Kai, get your kid!" The blue ninja shouted.
"Ugh, Jay, you should've just let her hold the controller!" The red ninja told him, before setting down his own controller and holding his arms out for Nori. "C'mere kid, you're alright.."
The little brunette immediately jumped up and hurried into the older brunette's arms, his warm embrace effectively calming her down as Cole smacked the blue ninja in the back of his head, annoyed at what happened.
"Good going, zaptrap."
"Ow- I didn't mean to upset her!"
"Well you did, and now I've got a crying kid and our three-day progress is gone." Kai responded, pointing to the screen where their characters got defeated by the boss, only for it to get cut off after a moment.
The other three looked over at the outlet where the tv should've been plugged in, only to see Wu holding the unplugged cord with an unamused expression.
