The sun was rising over New York City, signaling a brand new day. It was the next morning after you pulled several all nighter researching and visiting multiple crime scenes for April, helping her look into the turtles.

It was the next morning you and April had finally finished gathering everything that she needed, and just in time before April needed to leave for work. Leaving you to have the day to yourself.

April was currently in her office putting up pictures, notes, and finishing touches to her whiteboard as Bernadette walked into the room.

“O’Neil! All right, what was so important I had to get here?”

“Okay, are you ready?” April asked, shaking of nerves as she wiped her hands up and down her shirt.

“-yeah.”

“Okay, you know how my friend and I saw the vigilante?” She started, before continuing. “But we had no photos or evidence to show you, so I just sounded crazy!”

“-Yes.” Bernadette answered, nodding her head.

“-Okay, but we saw him again, well we didn't see him again. We saw them, because there’s four there’s not just one, there’s four.” She explained, making fast hand gestures.

“And I was standing as close to them as you are to me right now.” She said, pointing back and forth between her and Bernadette.

“What’d they look like?” Bernadette asked, having a grin on her face. Actually getting excited as she gestures for April to continue.

“I’ll show you.” April said walking up to the whiteboard, pointing to a close up picture of an aquatic turtle.

“What.”

“Like this.” April tapped the photo, looking at the turtle then to Brenadette.

“Like turtles?” Bernadette asked, giving April a questionable look.

“Well, they don’t look like turtles because they are turtles.” April corrected, looking down at the photo as Bernadette looked back and forth between her and the picture like she was crazy.

“They’re over six feet tall and they speak English.” April went on to explain as Bernadette turned around with a wide eye and mouth agape.

“Oh, my god-”

“I was awake all night please look, we were awake all night googling all of the thwarted crimes over the past three months, and this symbol appeared at every single one.” April ran up to the whiteboard, catching Bernadette’s attention before she could walk out.

“Look! Every single one of them. This one look, here, here, here, here-” April said pointing at all the pictures of each location.

Before stopping on a highlighted version of the symbol that was in the middle of the whiteboard, with several arrows pointed at it.

“and it’s an ancient Japanese symbol that means ‘family’.” April said, causing Bernadette to pinched the bridge of her nose.

“Wait, it’s on my laptop!”

“I can't believe you brought me in to do this!” Bernadette said laughing at her in disbelief as April opened the laptop, bringing up a video to show her.

“It’s here, it’s here. This is my father’s lab, this is the same lab where these things were born or created or mutated. Or, I don’t know the terminology.” She tries to reason.

“But will you please just look, look at what I’m showing you and listen to me. It’s all connected, the turtles are the vigilantes and the vigilantes are these turtles.” April practically begs while holding out her laptop.
