CH 9. The lair.

Hours later, the sun had finally set, and the world outside was covered in a dark blanket of night.

The only illumination in the dimly lit room is the light in the kitchen, the pale glow making shadows dance against the cabinets.

Everything outside was quiet, the stillness of the late evening air creating a tranquil atmosphere.

It had been late in the day by the time you had parted ways with April after visiting the Sacks estate. Feeling emotionally drained when you made it back to your apartment.

You sighed to yourself as you were currently standing in your kitchen, your eyes closed as you leaned against the counter.

A cup of coffee being made behind you as you waited.

You were in deep thought about the events that had taken place with Mr. Sacks. Making you sigh again as you ran your hand through your hair.

The whole thing had made you suspicious and completely on edge. Making you self consciously rub your eyes as you thought back to your slip up.

At least you had gotten your answer about the mutagent, but it just left you with more questions than answers.

You were pulled out of your thoughts at the sound of liquid splashing. The hot liquid pouring into the cup, as the strong aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the kitchen. A few drops landing on the lip of the cup, sizzling as they make contact.

The machine let out a small beep, signaling that your coffee was done as you slowly took it off the tray.

Holding it close to you as you blew on it, walking out of the kitchen and into the dining room. The cold tile floor pressing against your bare feet as you took a seat at the table. Where all your notes and clues were spread out.

You took a sip of your coffee as you looked towards your open laptop, looking through some files you had been watching. As you clicked on the next one.

Only for your laptop to start glitching out as a series of green numbers and letters covered your screen.

“Bam! You’ve been hacked, by Donatello.” A voice spoke from your laptop, making you slightly startled as you looked at the screen in confusion.

“Remember me turtle four eyes. But enough about me, we told you we’d find you. Meet us here and come alone, well with your friend too.” He said as an address came onto the screen.

“Or else we’re uh… You shall be punished! And stuff…” He threatened unsurely, which made you smile to yourself as you quickly wrote it down before standing up.

Grabbing all the things you need as you hurried out of your apartment to go get April.

After catching April up on what was going on, you guys quickly made it to the address Donnie had given you.

Climbing up the ladder to get to the roof, only to look around and to see no one there.

“Hello!” April called out as she looked around.

“You told us to come here, I’d only brought April with me.” You said, right as Mikey jumped down landing behind you.

Making you guys gasp in surprise, as he put his hands on your shoulders. Turning you around to face him as he looked down at you.

“Ok… Are you guys (Y/N) (L/N) and April O’Neil?” He said letting go of you, looking between you and April.

Right as a bright light was shined into your face, making you lift up your arm to shield your eyes.

“Initiating rental scan! Scanning, scanning, scanning. Scan complete, it’s them. It’s them guys! It’s them.” Donnie said excitedly.
