Save Our City || Tmnt x Reader ||

CH 17. We save the city.

Vernon groaned, gritting his teeth as you and April quickly ran over to him as he slowly pushed himself up to lean against a table.

“Are you okay?” You asked worriedly, as Vernon hissed in pain putting his hand against his wound, looking down at the blood before pointing at you.

“Look, just go get some help and take the mutagen with you.” He said while April put pressure to his wound.

“I can’t leave you guys-” You tried to argue but April cuts you off.

“Just go, go!” You nodded before running to the machine, unscrewing the mutagen as you ran past them and out of the lab.

“Just another day in the life of a man of action…” Vernon said as he tried to sit up, making pain shoot through his body as he groaned.

“No, I’m not getting up.” He pants as April shook her head, helping him lay back down.

The atmosphere was thick with a sense of foreboding, the dread growing stronger as the clock continued to count down the seconds as the brothers quickly ran over to the control panels.

“You know how to use this thing?” Raph asked, as Donnie began to look over the panels.

“It’s a simple command-line interface, no one’s used this code in 15 years.” He said nervously as he typed and pushed buttons.

“I mean, I’ve read about it online. But these kinds of things take time, thinking there was no way I’d ever be in a position where the fate of an entire city…” Donnie rambled on as Shredder climbed back up the building, standing tall while looking at the brothers while releasing his blades.

“I’ll buy you some time.” Raph said while he, Leo, and Mikey stood together grading their brother as Shredder threw his blades at them while they blocked it with their weapons.

They went back and forth blocking Shredder blades that were bouncing off their weapons and back at him as the countdown keeped going. “Toxin disbursement in five, four…”

Donnie gasped as he keeped typing at the keyboard with widened eyes and mouth agape. “Three, two…”

The toxin started to slowly spill out, a green gas in the air before it abruptly stopped when the screen of the control panel showed that the system was disabled.

“Bam! System disabled!” Donnie cheered, fist bumping the air as he laughed.

“Who wants italian? I’m buying! Tiramisu for everybody!” Donnie smiled with his hands in the air right before ducking as a blade rushed past him, going back to Shredder.

Shredder paused as he looked up at the antenna that held the toxic gas before he started throwing his blades at it, the antenna started coming down as all the brothers looked up and gasped.

“Fall in!” Leo ordered as all the brothers quickly ran under the antenna in different spots, holding it up while pieces of it fell down.

“Hold on! Hold it, hold it!”

“If the spire falls and the toxin makes a ground impact, it’ll contaminate a 10-block radius!” Donnie informed, grunting as his arms began to shake from the weight of the antenna.

“What are the odds of us stopping that from happening?” Leo asked looking back at Donnie.

“0.00000000003%!”

“I’ll take it. Nobody moves, no matter what!” Leo ordered, making the rest of his brothers look at each other in concern. As Shredder slowly walked towards them.
