Klludd's POV:

I awoke so fast, I suddenly had a headache/hangover. I could barely remember what happened last night. I waited until my headache was gone. I looked over to Nyrachnia to see that she was still asleep. I must've awoken earlier than I was used to. I got out of the room quietly, headed for the courtyard from before outside. As soon as I got there, I saw it was turned into a training ground. I looked around, not noticing a pressure plate that activated some ballistas on my right. I quickly dodged the attack and grabbed a nearby sword and swung it at the incoming spears. Then I fashioned a shield to block the arrows that came from above. Then I saw a crossbow on the ground and took a shot that caused a swinging stone to head towards me. I slid to my left as the stone completely decimated the ballistas from before. Then it swung up and crushed the mechanism that shot the arrows after the rope snapped. Then I saw some wooden cutouts of what looked like guardians. I knew they were fake, so i had my way with them. By that, I mean destroy them any way I could. I even did in half of them with a blindfold.

"Hello."

That caught me by surprise and I almost pointed the sword i had behind me. Then I realized that the scratazon who said 'Hello' sounded familiar. I almost blushed profusely.

"Nyrachnia?" I asked quietly before removing the blindfold.

"I didn't mean to frighten you there." Nyrachnia said. "You're quite a fighter, I'll give you that. Although, I never saw any of our soldiers training with a blindfold." I was amazed, albeit very shy to realize that she saw half of the faux fight. The commotion must've woken her abruptly.

I cleared my throat and said, "my brother taught me to do that. He said for me to let go of my conscious self and act on instinct." Nyrachnia took the blindfold and put it on, impressing me that she wanted to try it out.

"So, you just use your instincts and not your own eyes?" She asked.

"There are times where your eyes can deceive you, so don't trust them." I explained. Then she pulled out her sword as I put mine in front of me. I swung high, then low, then in the middle, but every time I struck, she blocked every single attack that I made.

"See? You can do it." I said, congratulating her. She took off the blindfold, amazed that she learned new tricks.

"Goodness. I could almost see the blade coming at me." She said.

"Yeah, I had that expression my first time as well." I said, quite friendly. "What was my first step into a larger world is now yours."

"What does that mean?" Nyrachnia asked.

"Yeah, even I get confused about what it meant." I said admittedly. Then I looked at the sword/cutlass I was holding. Although I've never seen it before, it somehow seems strikingly familiar.

"That was your mother's sword." Nyrachnia said. "Some anonymous scratazon said that she retired from the Pure Ones after the incident that almost took her life and vowed never to take up arms again." I looked at the ship-like pattern on the guard. It looked very majestic. Then suddenly, a soldier came into the courtyard.

"Your grace, two of the pickers have mysteriously disappeared form the mines." He said. Nyrachnia was in shock.

She got into the soldier's face and asked, "where did they go?!"
