𝐂𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐔𝐒, 𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐁𝐎𝐖, 𝐒𝐓𝐔𝐂𝐊

I screamed in pain.

Stepping a few steps back, I pressed my hands on my bleeding nose.

Did I seriously just walk straight into a glass door?

“Are you okay?” A man stepped out of the store I just wanted to enter, nearly hitting me with the door again. He quickly apologized.

Looking at his face, I realized he couldn't be much older than me. “Yeah, I think so. I'm just very clumsy.”

“I heard a loud bang and just wanted to check up.” Awkwardly, he rubbed his neck.

Suddenly, there are two of him. I blinked. He looked mesmerizing.

According to his moving lips, which look pretty awesome, he was talking to me. Though not a single word reached my ears. Actually, it sounded like I had cotton pushed very deep into my ears.

Was this normal?

When everything started to spin, I got scared. This was definitely not normal. Was this because of that bang on the door? What a dumb way to die.

Last thing I know is pure blackness surrounding me before I woke up again with a loud groan.

Taking in my surroundings I nearly went unconscious again. I wasn't seriously in a hospital.

“You okay?” The handsome man from earlier asks, sitting beside my bed.

“Oh, yeah, I feel awesome. Like I could ride a unicorn and chase rainbows.”

He started to laugh the most angelic laugh I ever heard.

“I, uh, I got you this.” He placed a cactus on the nightstand beside the bed I lay in

“Wow, this is the most beautiful plant I've ever seen.” I said, sarcasm dripping from my voice.

We both proceeded to stare at the small cactus until we erupted in laughter once again.

A nurse must've heard us because she came in to check up on me, also telling me I'm free to go but to be careful with my head.

“You know, now that I'm set free you won't have to watch after me anymore.” Disappointed, I prepared for the goodbye.

The Goodbye that never came.

“Who says this is the end?” He took my hands and I'm nearly fainting again. “I want to get to know you. And obviously I can't leave the cactus behind.”

A laugh escaped my lips.

“Good, because from now on, you are stuck with me. And the cactus, obviously.”
