𝐒𝐔𝐍𝐆𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐒 - 𝐃𝐄𝐕𝐎𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 - 𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐒𝐀𝐍𝐃

Violette wondered what his eyes were saying beneath his reflective sunglasses, as the rest of his face conveyed no emotion. Seconds wore on, and although she could've - potentially - missed the slight smile gracing his face, she did not. His lips lifted into a lopsided smirk for only a fleeting fraction of a moment.

The scraping of rubber and metal screeching made his smile drop as gravity has pulled the presence of it down itself.

Frozen in the moment, Violette's limbs were utterly immoblised. A mere glance and slight smile from the she knew to love had filled to the brim with such an indescribable joy her body could not move.

Before Violette truly returned to the present, she was hit, knees buckling, and knocked to the ground. While her small frame had been perfectly still before - not to mention her racing heart - by choice and awe, her body was now dead still.

The boy sat as still has she did, not breathing. Shock seemed to steal control. His throat was thick.

Behind his sunglasses, his eyes portrayed flashes of many emotions. Surprise, to disbelief, and as the window rolled down, a flash of recogniton. Betrayal hit him with the power of a thousand suns.

Violette never witnessed any of those emotions. She was only to know that spark of a smile, then fast pain and lingering darkness. She was never, ever to see the love and devotion in his eyes, shielded by his sunglasses.
