"You can't Anna!" Her mother said with a very angry voice.
"I will" Anna was determined. What if they caught her this time? She would try to run away again!
Her mother was furious. She just put her hand on her forehead, as if she gave up. That was good for Anna, thought.
But her father continued the shouting:
"Tell me where were you going!"
"Never."
"Tell me now!!!" He raised his hand.
"No."
He hit her. She remained cool. She had fast metabolism and perfect comments flew through her mind, but she remained stone faced.
Her parents looked at her with disapproval and disappointment and left her room. The door lock cracked. The window was locked too.
But she already had a plan. She quickly checked if all she needed is in her backpack. Then she grabbed her pocket knife and , as silent as possible the girl cut the big wooden decorative ball off her bed. Now all she had to do was to wait for them to fall asleep.
While time passed she was thinking how she'll go.... She was so sick of being known as a member of the "high" class..... And as "the girl from the rich house"... She just wanted to go away from there.
And she suddenly remembered! What if they came to look for her?! The clothes were alright, her cousin Marius gave her those before he left, but he was 2 years older .... His parents couldn't stop him, because he was 18.....
So! She set her her mind back to her looks.... She had to cut off her hair. Without thinking it too much she grabbed the scissors and sat in front of the mirror.
In half an hour she was done. She put the scissors back in the drawer and carefully collected her hair. She put it in the fireplace and burned it with some matches.
Soon she heard her father's snoring.
She took a deep breath and threw the wooden ball at the window. Glass flew everywhere. She quickly got the other glasses off the window.
There was no snoring. Now she could hear her father's steps down the hallway.
"Revolution, here I am" she thought, put her hat on and went out of the window. She climbed down the wall and ran as fast as she could , laughing. Behind her, following were the shouts of her father.
After an hour, she his under the canal's bridge to take a rest. She was now free....
The sun raised and she continued her way.
About 3 hours later she was in front of the ABC cafe.
Suddenly she saw Marius. She got her hat off.
"Marius!" She called him. He turned and saw her. He didn't recognize her at the moment, but then he got it.
He came to her.
"Hi Anna! What happened to your hair?"
"I cut it off...?"
"Yes, I see!" they both laughed. " Why didn't you arrive last night? I was worried!"
"They caught me... But I ran away again, like fu#* you! I do whatever I want!"
"So you still are very talkative!" he said.
"Of course! But they don't know where am I , yet I am sure they'll check... That's why I cut my hair!" I explained.
"Cool, I will just introduce you to Enjolras - he is the leader of the revolution..."
"Sounds fun!" Anna said.
They went inside, where a few boys were sitting around a table, arguing about something.
Anna overheard them saying:
"Nobody can climb up there...."
"We can't risk it...."
"Enjolras!" Marius called.
A blonde boy turned around. When Anna saw him, her heart stopped for a moment. She looked into his hazel eyes, and she felt like she's falling in them.... It was like he was the only one in the room.
She suddenly went back to reality.
"What's wrong with you?" Anna asked herself.
"This is my cousin, I told you about her - she wants to join...." Marius started to explain.
"Hi I am Anna!" she introduced herself.
"I am Enjolras. Welcome the French revolution" He got something out of his pocket - a badge. He put it on her jacket. "You are one of us now."
