Anna decided to stay just for 3 more nights. The days were passing so slow. Enjolras gave her some sketches of the area around the cafe, so she could finish them.
And yet it was so boring to her.
Slowly the days gone by. It was her last night and she could go around the city and have lots of fun... Yet she'd miss the little chats with Enjolras. He was actually quite funny and not so serious.
She mentally punched herself.
When he came back he had brought something. Anna couldn't see what was it. So she asked:
"What have you got there?"
"Something. Come." Enjolras said.
"Where?"
"Just follow me."
He opened the window and started to climb upwards. Anna followed him.
They ended up on the flat rooftop. It was beautiful! The sun was going down behind the buildings and you could see the whole Paris from there.
"Amazing..." was all Anna managed to say .
She sat down next to Enjolras, hanging their legs off the building.
It was quiet. None of them said anything . Even the always-talking girl.
Suddenly Anna felt Enjolras' hand over hers. She turned to him and they both leant closer ... And they fell into a soft kiss.
When they separated , Anna smiled and blushed. Enjolras felt his face red too. He opened the package. It was a bottle of wine and 2 glasses.
He gave her one and took one for himself.
"Tomorrow me and Marius are going to work over a crowd in front of General Lamarque's home. Will you come?" Enjolras broke the silence.
"Yes, of course... You know what Enjolras...." Anna started " I feel like it will be soon."
"The barricades, the revolution?" he asked. She nodded. "Me too."On the next day they both went to the café.
When Grantaire saw them - hand in hand, he whistled.
"I see why you weren't here Anna!" he laughed.
"Shut up, Grantaire!" she said blushing.
Everybody started joking around how Anna broke Enjolras and how he broke her and so on. At the end they couldn't resist it, but laugh along.
They went to General Lamarque's home and Enjolras and Marius started to convince the people to join when the moment came.
But they also said the general is fading and probably won't last the week.
Unfortunately, some horseman , the police probably, pushed them away.
"Anna, I am going to the cafe!" Enjolras said.
"Alright,I'll be here somewhere!" Anna answered.
She went to the centre, where the Thenadiers were cheating someone to give them money again.
Anna loved to watch them, they were just so funny!
But this time some inspector, the girl didn't see his face, because she turned around, not to be seen by him, joined the scene. He talked something with Éponine' s father and then said loudly:
"Everyone about your business, clear this garbage off the street!"
Anna decided to go walk around with Éponine, but when she found her she was crying.
"Eponine, what's wrong?" she carefully kneeled down to her.
"I-It's M-marius" she sobbed. "He fell in love with Cossette..."
In this moment something in Anna cracked. Éponine had told her about that girl. Anna went furious in the café. She grabbed Marius by the back of his jacket and pulled him outside.
"What is wrong with you?!" she was trying to talk calmly, but her cousin sensed that every single sound of her words is full of anger. "Are you blind?!" she continued. She saw his confused look and added "Éponine?!"
"What about her?" he asked, afraid he might get punched.
"She loves you idiot!" Anna shouted and walked , because he was not going to live to see even the barricades if he kept staring at her with that stupid look on his face.Anna just sat in the café with a wine bottle in her hand, just telling Enjolras what happened, when Éponine came to her. Anna didn't actually know if she was going to be angry or not of what she did.
But she just hugged her tightly and whispered:
"Thank you."
