Everybody took mark on the people getting the cannon in and soon they were all down.
But there was a second cannon.
The revolution had lost already. But nobody would run. They'd die believing in freedom.
The soldiers of the king were climbing on the barricade.
Enjolras grabbed Anna's hand. The girl saw Marius falling.
They ran into the cafe with a few of their friends, but the soldiers broke in.
The revolutionary fighters were pushed to the second floor.
There was a shooting.
Only Enjolras and Anna were standing. They stood in front of the window. The soldiers came to the second floor and surrounded them.
Suddenly somebody climbed up on what was left of the stairs.
Grantaire stood next to his friends.
Enjolras raised the flag and squashed Anna's hand. They proudly raised their heads. There was no fear in their hearts.
"Fire!" someone said and everything turned black.
