AUTHOR'S POV
Arhaan got shocked upon hearing Dadu's voice. "What is going on here... and who are they?" Dadu asked.
Before Arhaan could reply, Mishti chimed in, "Dadu, they are Arhaan's friends and brother. They came to visit me."
Arhaan muttered, "Hayee meri saviour, bhagwan isse sare bala se bachaye..." (Oh my savior, may God protect her from all harm.)
Vansh heard Arhaan's muttering and added, "Aap se bhi bachaye..." (And protect her from you too...)
Dadu raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything. Mishti quickly interjected, "Dadu, it's time for your medicine." She gently took Dadu inside.
As Mishti and Dadu walked away, Arhaan let out a deep breath. "That was close," he said, turning to Rian and Vansh.
Rian grinned, "So, what's next on the agenda, Mr. Chef?"
Arhaan said, "I have to clean up and serve the shukto to Dadu. You guys go inside."
They nodded, and Arhaan warned them, "Make sure nobody knows. Otherwise, you'll see another Arhaan."
Rian and Vansh snickered and quietly made their way into another room, ensuring they stayed out of sight. Arhaan turned his attention back to the kitchen, determined to finish everything perfectly.
He quickly tidied up, wiping down surfaces and making sure the kitchen looked spotless. He then carefully arranged the shukto on a serving dish, adding a garnish for a touch of elegance.
Just as he was about to take the dish to Dadu, Mishti walked back into the kitchen, having finished giving Dadu his medicine. She smiled, seeing Arhaan’s efforts. "You’re doing great, Arhaan."
Arhaan smiled back, "Thanks, Mishti. I just hope Dadu likes it."
Mishti nodded reassuringly. "He will. Trust me."
Arhaan took a deep breath, picked up the serving dish, and walked into the dining room where Dadu was waiting. Placing the dish in front of Dadu, Arhaan said, "Here it is, Dadu. Homemade shukto."
Dadu inspected the dish, taking in the aroma and presentation. He took a bite, savoring the flavors. After a few moments, he looked up at Arhaan with a satisfied smile. "This is very good, Arhaan. You’ve done well."
Dadu took another bite, then paused and looked at Arhaan suspiciously. "Did you really make this?"
Arhaan nodded, but Rian and Vansh, sitting nearby, shook their heads 'no.' Arhaan glared at them, and they quickly started eating to avoid further questioning.
Dadu continued, "What spices did you mix in here?"
Arhaan hesitated, "It wasn't in the test, Dadu."
"But I must know what you used," Dadu insisted.
Arhaan, stalling for time, looked towards Mishti for help. Mishti subtly showed five fingers and mouthed, "paach phoron" (a spice mix).
"Paach pana," Arhaan blurted out.
Dadu raised an eyebrow, "What? Never mind, you've created your own mix. The shukto is good, but it lacks the authentic Bengali touch."
Dadu then shifted gears. "Your third task is to wash clothes and dishes."
Arav, curious, asked, "Do you guys wash clothes and dishes in traditional attire?"
Dadu looked at Arav, then at Arhaan, and said, "Change into something comfortable."
Turning to Mishti, Dadu said, "Mishti, come with me."
Mishti protested, "Dadu, let me compliment Arhaan."
