"Ssh it's me Dean" my body had already recognised him before he spoke and I immediately relaxed back into him. He dropped his hand from my mouth and slowly turned me around. "What the fuck are you doing here Amy" I flinched at his sharp tone "I told you to stay away"
I pulled myself away from him "And I told you I was going to look for my brother. What the hell is going on here Dean whats happening, wait did you do this" I held out my hands and started slowly backing away.
Dean marched towards me grabbed my arm and roughly pulled back into his embrace. He looked down at me his eyes betraying none of the emotions they had just the night before. "Do you really think I could do something like this Amy" his voice was cold
I didn't have to think about it, I knew instantly this wasn't him just like I knew instantly I could trust him when I took him to my secret spot last night. I sagged against him and his arms tightened around my waist. "I'm sorry of course I don't think you did this"
His eyes finally softened and he dropped his head burying his face into my hair. He inhaled deeply and I felt his body start to relax against mine "You shouldn't be here. I didn't want you to see this" his voice was muffled by my curls.
"Please tell me whats happening, has this got something to do with Tony" I let out a small sob and Dean tightened his hold even more. "Oh my god, Tony we need to find him, we need to get him out of here" the thought of whatever happened here happening to my brother nearly broke me. I tried to pull away from Dean's grasp but he held me tight. He whispered soothing words into my hair but I was to frantic to listen. I struggled violently but his grip on me held firm. "Dean let me go, I have to find him"
"I believe we know exactly where your brother is Amy" the deep voice came from across the campsite. I stilled and Dean cautiously released me then took a step back. John Winchester was stood leaning against an old post, a sawed off shot gun resting on his shoulder.  I looked from him to Dean who was staring angrily at his father. "Where is he, please will you take me to him" I pleaded.
"I don't think that's a good idea little girl, Dean here was right you should have stayed away"
"Well I didn't and now that I'm here your both gonna have to deal with it and tell me what the fuck is going on" my voice' grew louder finally ending in a shout that echoed around the small campsite. I'd had enough of these Winchester men trying to tell me what to do. John's eyes widened slightly and Dean had a look that could almost be admiration.
"OK then" John stood up to his full height and walked towards us "it seems that we have us a little Wendigo problem"
I looked to Dean for further explanation but he was too busy glaring at his Dad
"You see Wendigos are nasty little critters" John elaborated "they start out as men but soon the hunger takes over and they start feeding on human flesh. Don't normally find them in these parts but Dean and I have been tracking it for a while now. We think it's got your brother holed up in one of the caves, alive for now"
Once again I turned to Dean this time he sighed and looked down at me "Wendigos are cannibals, starting off human they soon get a liking for man meat. The Cree's call them The Evil That Devours they say cannibalism can give someone super strength they can live for hundreds of years  turning in to some kind of jacked up Hannible Lector. They tend to store their food so Tony should be ok but we have to get to him soon"
My first instinct was to scoff at Dean's words but the look on his face and the strange connection between us told me he was telling the truth "OK then" I stated flatly "How do we kill it"

Dean looked down at Amy with a mix of surprise and pride. He had been on enough hunts with his Dad to see a mixture of emotions when someone came face to face with the supernatural but Amy's flat acceptance of what had to be done was new to him. He couldn't help but grin at his Dad's shocked look. John Winchester was not a man of many words but Dean had never seen him speechless. "Silver normally works with these leg munchers" Dean produced his Colt from under his jacket and passed it to Amy. "Do you know how to use a gun?"
"I grew up in texas Dean" Amy quickly checked the safety then the rounds noting how the sun glinted off the silver bullets."What do you think?"
John chuckled as he bent to pick up the bag. He threw it at Dean catching him off guard as he was to busy gaping at the girl in front of him.
Amy sitting on the hood of her car was hot, Amy laying under the stars was hotter but Amy confidently checking then cocking his pistol was one of the hottest things Dean had ever seen.
After checking the safety one last time Amy put the gun in the waist of her Jeans and looked towards John "so which way? Let's go gank this son of a bitch"
He blinked and shook his head at her resemblance to Dean in that moment. "Not so fast little lady if we're gonna do this we do this my way, you do what I say when I say and you don't question orders no matter what happens. You got that"
"Sir yes Sir" Amy raised her hand to her forhead in a mock salute and banged her heels together.
John stalked away growling "you better get your woman in check boy or this is gonna get messy"
Dean fought hard to keep a straight face until his father had almost disappeared in the direction of the caves. Her turned to Amy and surprised her with a quick hard kiss on her lips "your fucking awesome" he grinned "now come on we best catch up or he'll be pissed"
"What he isn't already" Amy asked
"Nah, I think he likes you" Dean gave her a quick wink before increasing their pace to catch up with his Dad.
The Caverns weren't far from the morbid campsite so it wasn't long before John was silently gesturing for them to stop.
Dean placed Amy behind him keeping hold of her hand. The trio crept forwards quietly as the mouth of a large cave loomed before them.
"So this is what's gonna happen" John took the lead "Amy you will wait outside and not come in no matter what happens.."
"But" Amy interrupted, John didn't let her continue.
"What did I say about following orders"
"Sorry Sir" Amy conceded meekly
"Now as I was saying Amy you wait outside. Dean you find the brother and get him out, and I'll go kill the bastard. As soon as your brothers out you get him out of here Amy, dont wait for us Ok" Amy glanced quickly at Dean then nodded.
Dean guided Amy to a hidden spot not far from the entrance "Wait here and please don't do anything stupid" he quickly kissed her and walked away before she could argue.
John led the way into the cave his gun held out before him. He motioned for Dean to take an adjacent tunnel and carried on ahead.
The light from the entrance quickly faded as Dean entered the tunnel. He pulled his torch from his jacket pocket and turned it on. He edged forwards cautiously the only sounds his own steady breath. The tunnel started to widen Dean paused listening for any signs of life. He was in a large cave his torchlight bearly reaching the other side.  He spied what he thought was another entrance partly covered in fallen rocks. He swung his torch around the light catching on something metallic in a far corner. Dean made his way slowly across the floor he felt exposed and wished his Dad or his brother was there to have his back. The metal object turned out to be a cell phone. He flipped it open not surprised by the lack of signal, the phone lit up and Dean stared down at the picture on the screen. Amy was there with her arm thrown around the shoulders of a young man that looked remarkable like her. His mop of curls hanging over his smiling eyes.
A muffled groan pulled his attention away from the phone. He looked around and saw a boot sticking out from behind another pile of rocks. He rushed over "Tony?" As he neared he saw the boy from the picture, he was laid flat on the ground one arm bent in an unnatural angle. His eyes were closed, blood and dirt covered his face. There was another groan and Tony's eyes started to flutter open.  Dean let out a sigh of relief as he looked into a pair of eyes so much like Amy's he was left in no doubt that this was her brother. "Come on we've got to get you out of here"
"What..what's going on" Tony mumbled trying to sit up. He let out a loud screem as he tried to move his broken arm causing Dean to look around nervously
"I don't have time to explain let's just get you outside and Amy will tell you everything"
"Amy, Amys at home I don't understand"
"Look buddy Amy is outside waiting, I'm a friend of hers. I've come to get you out" Dean didn't know when the monster would be back, it had clearly just dumped Tony ready to store him properly later but he knew he had to get moving he needed to find his Dad and help put an end to the freak. He helped Tony to his feet the kid was broad and athletic but still a good head shorter than him. Being careful to keep away from the broken arm he put the other one over his shoulder and allowed Tony to rest his bodyweight on him. It was slow moving, shuffling forwards step by step, Dean struggling to hold the torch, his gun and support the boy beside him. Eventually they came to the tunnel where Dean had emerged from. As they turned down the narrow passage they heard a grotesque screech from somewhere behind them. Trying to quicken their pace Dean almost carried Tony, his feet bearly scraping along the floor. He knew that Amys brother must be in agony, his arm hanging low at his side. The boys face was white in the torchlight beads of sweat rolled down it but he kept his mouth shut. He didn't complain when Dean accidentally jarred his arm, a small grunt and a tightening of the lips the only signs of pain.
The noises were getting louder behind them growls and roars filled with frustration and anger. Dean daren't look behind him, not because he was afraid of what he would see but he didn't want to slow down or trip on the uneven ground. The light from the entrance started to filter in. "Come on we're almost there" he huffed. The cries of the monster grew even closer. "We're not gonna make it" Tony groaned "leave me, get Amy out of here, keep her safe"
Dean shifted Tony's weight and set off at an even faster pace. "No way dude. I promised your sister and I've seen her mad"
"Amy never let's anyone see her, who the hell are you"
The stench from the Wendigo engulfed them. Dean could almost feel its breath on the back of his neck. They were almost there, just a few more steps. The roar behind them shook the walls of the cave sending dirt and rubble down on their heads. They were out of time. Dean shoved Tony forwards just a couple of paces from the entrance. Confident he had made it he turned to face the bellowing beast.
Tony took a couple of stumbling steps forwards relief flooded him, he'd made it out, he knew his friends hadn't been so lucky. Just as he was about to step out into the sunlight a short bedraggled man in a dirty grey suit stepped out of the shadows. His appearance, so unexpected and out of place, shocked Tony causing him to stumble and almost crash into the man. Without a word the stranger placed two fingers onto Tony's forehead and watched as he disappeared.
Dean spun away from Tony the moment he knew he would be safe. The Wendigo was charging towards him. Its long pale limbs sticking out at unnatural angles. He raised his shot gun aimed it at the monsters chest and squeezed the trigger.
At the exact moment the bullet left the chamber Dean felt a change in the air, Tony appeared from nowhere, his eyes wide as he stood between Deans raised gun and the Wendigo, directly in the bullets path.
