Chapter 5 Friends and Enemies

The following day Vivienne awoke to her phone ringing, she grumbled annoyed as she had a very long night and desired to sleep in. However when she picked up her phone to see who was calling she saw that it was her mother. So quickly Vivienne sat up and answered the call as she believed her mom was wondering why she didn't come home last night.

"Hey Mom! Before you ask, last night I made an incredible discovery regarding the Emerald and that's why I didn't come home!" Vivienne blurted out quickly.

"Oh well I actually already know that, after all I know what your avatar's name is so I had a feeling it was you," Her mom explained.

"Oh really? Well Penavie also wanted some answers as she saw my avatar's name on there as well so I had a bit of a talk with her last night," Vivienne explained.

"Hehe, well I was mostly calling you to say that I'm going to the doctors for another check up and to refill my medicine... Cough Cough! Ugh," Vivienne heard her mom cough and splutter out.

"Oh dear, are you getting any better? You've been like this for a while now mom," Vivienne stated worried about her mother.

"I'm not sure, but I know that with your determination you'll help get us out of here and we'll go somewhere better with better doctors, hospitals, and medicine," Her mom reassured.

"Yeah I know, I do want what's best for you and anyone who dares harm you will face my wrath!!" Vivienne declared.

"What did I do to be blessed with such an amazing daughter?" Her mom asked.

"Hehe, well I need to go now, and you need to get to the doctors office," Vivienne reminded, wanting her mom to get well soon.

"Oh right, well I'll see you again soon, I love you dear," Her mom said. "I love you mom," Vivienne bidded before ending the call.

Now with that conversation done Vivienne wondered what she should do now. She sat there in thought for a moment till she decided to check the emails she had received from the previous day. Sitting up Vivienne picked up her headset and gloves, fixed them right on her face and logged into the .F.S.I.G. Once in she accessed her emails to see what most of them were about. Somewhere just a bunch of junk or scams so those where trashed instantly others however where what caught Adria's attention. Some companies ask her to become their sponsors or have them make action figures, posters, and more of her avatar on their products. They'd included the amount she'd pay for if she had accepted. Upon seeing this Adria knew she wanted to accept it right away as this money would allow her and her mom to move out and get a better place. "I could not only get my mom better doctors, but I could also get away from that creep Sam! HAHAHA!!" Adria exclaimed.

So she instantly accepted with some conditions, that her real face and name remain anonymous and she'd only use her avatar for them and nothing more. She sends the response to the companies excited to receive her payments and get away from that creep Sam and his idiotic family. After some time Adria looked at the news channel regarding the usernames on the crowns score board.

"Hello everyone and welcome to Crown News. Today we'll be discussing the big scoop about the competition that started after Noha's passing. After ten years of the scoreboard being blank and none of the gems being discovered the emerald was finally found. Yes! That's right! You've heard it here folks! A player has found the emerald after all this time! Now the excitement of the competition is higher than ever before! The user's name in question is Adria and Cato but no one knows much about them. So everyone is asking the same question, what happens now? And when will the next gem be found? Stay tuned for more," The news lady stated as she finished her segment.

Adria smiled excitedly at this, as she has been an outcast for the longest time and now she was famous from this. However she knew there was no time to dilly dally as she needed to figure out the next clue on the chrysocolla. "Hmm the riddle was 'High and low, the flow goes. The chrysocolla is just as so, look in the sky and night, and you'll find an utmost delight'... Um... I-I have no clue what that means! Ugh! I know Noha loved challenges but did they have to make it this hard!? Ugh!" Adria screamed in frustration as she rambled her brain on what the clue meant.
