Chapter 9 A Potential Lead

Several weeks later Vivienne had settled into her new apartment quite well. She'd gotten it styled just the way she liked it as it was mostly white, making it very plain to her. However before getting it decorated Vivienne first searched for a job to keep cash flowing in as what she had would soon run out. Thankfully she was able to land a job where she could easily work from home on her computer. That was a relief to her as Vivienne didn't want to go outside with dangerous people out for her life. Her job was pretty easy to her as she mostly filed paperwork for an electric company. She would also answer calls from clients asking how to either fix the product they bought or how to get it to work.

Once she had her job secured Vivienne hired some professionals to come and style up her apartment. She had the bathroom painted to resemble a stream running through a grassy field. The Kitchen was painted with a yellow background and a variety of fruits. Finally she had her room painted purple and black; she also replaced the white sheets with ones her Avatar was printed on.

Once her apartment finished being painted and redecorated, she ordered in a brand new F.S.I.G. headset and equipment. This time the items she bought were much better than what the school provided her. She bought a multi directional treadmill where its belt will change to match the landscape and terrain in the game world. It also came with a harness that would lift her up if she were in virtual space or had made a large jump. She had also bought a full body sensor suit that allowed her to feel the sensations of everything in her environment, even pain if she had that feature on.

Her new headset now looked like a motorcyclist helmet made from a very strong material that would shield her head from any type of damage. It was a model Noha had made to resist long and hard falls and even bullets, intending to keep its user safe, and protected from any dangers in the real world. Vivienne appreciated this very much as she had a feeling that if she was ever found then the helmet would keep her head safe if they tried throwing her out the window.

So now with her new apartment fully remodeled and her new game set fully operational Vivienne was ready to get back into the game world. She strapped herself in her new harness and slipped on her helmet logging back into her .F.S.I.G, account. Her helmet activated and Vivienne soon found herself transported into the game world. As soon as Adria had fully materialized in the game world she saw she was floating in a void that was orange and black, with pumpkins and bats floating around her.

"Huh, I like this theme, it fits since Halloween is just around the corner," Adria commented.

She opened up her Avatars inventory and stats; before she could even look over anything a certain something caught her attention. Adria whipped her head over to the scoreboard and was horrified to see Emperor Kombask's username right under Valadoors. Right underneath his username was Shadow Lady Killer; both had the emerald right next to their usernames mirror Adria and her friends. However that wasn't the only thing she saw, right under Shadow Lady Killers username where more usernames of various types. However somewhere just numbers with the T.B.G.I acronym right next to it.

"WHAT THE HELL?! HOW DID THIS HAPPEN!?!?!" Adria screamed, shocked by what she saw.

Faster than light Adria called in a group meeting in Penavie's tree house at this moment. She needed to figure out what had happened while she was gone; after all Adria didn't keep track of the news all this time. Once the message was sent Adria transported herself to the treehouse, without wasting a single second. Her avatar materialized in front of the body of the tree; looking up, Adria saw that the treehouse had been expanded a bit since she was last here. The tree had grown some new branches with new rooms built on them, and wooden bridges crossed over to them.

"Huh, looks like Penavie made some extensions to the treehouse while I was gone," Adria stated. Shaking off the thought, Adria began climbing up the ladder as quickly as she could, hoping the others would soon arrive so she could receive an explanation on the scoreboard.
