This chapter is dedicated to Chloe_The_Hedgehog because she's awesome and deserves a follow etc:)
Remus' POV
Scarlett and I arrived at the door of my parent's house and knocked. After a few seconds delay, Mum opened the door and pulled me into a tight hug.
"Remus, I missed you so much honey!" Mum cried. "It's so lonely with only Brianna and your father here." She smiled at Scarlett who returned the gesture.
Once Xochital and Joel had arrived, Dad began the meeting, a nervous expression on his face.
"I know it's going to happen soon," he began. "So I hope you all remember your training." Obediently, we all transformed. I stared down at my familiar Lion form, and looked around the room at the others. Scarlett was a Lioness, Xochital a Snowy Owl, Joel stood proudly as a Hawk, Mum was a grey Cat and Dad was a German Shepard Dog. He nodded and we all turned back. "Good, good," He said. Thank Merlin Scarlett and Joel are such fast learners. Now then."
Dad pulled out a mirror and we all gathered around. "Show me Zara," he commanded. The mirror distorted and changed to an image of her, as usual, with Ryder in mid-conversation. We listened and Zara said something about a mission, but wouldn't elaborate. After a while, he gave her his Hufflepuff scarf and insisted that she borrowed it for whatever she had to do. She kissed him and skipped off.
"It's finished, Xochital," Joel said gently. "You can open your eyes." My twin sister uncovered her concealed eyes and shivered.
"I don't like spying on her either, but it must be done," Dad soothed. "Zara has intense power she doesn't know about and it could easily turn things very bad very quickly."
"I just feel so bad for her. She is so oblivious to the fact that one of the people she trusts the most is a spy. And to think, things were finally getting good."
Dad sighed. "What makes you think Zara will find out someone is spying on her, Xochital?"
"I don't know. I just have this uneasy feeling. Like something bad is going to happen."
Our meeting came to an abrupt stop as Brianna ran in. "Mum, the..." She stopped as she noticed us."Remus! Xochital!" Brianna hugged us both, and animatedly chatted to us, every now and then changing from herself to her Antelope form. Brianna had been hastily trained as an Animagus as soon as Rose and Scorpius were murdered and was still learning to control transformation. She looked around. "Where's Zara?"
The atmosphere tensed immediately. Dad signalled to Mum and they stood up to leave, but Brianna stopped them.
"You still haven't told her have you?" She said, sounding hurt. "I'm only nine and I know more than her. When is she going to know the truth? That we don't hate her because of what house she's in! That there is going to be a war! That Ryder-"
"Zara that is quite enough." Dad said in a warning tone, but Brianna continued.
"This isn't all about you, Dad. I miss her." Tears were running down Brianna's face at this point. "She deserves to know. And if you don't tell her soon, then I will." She marched out of the room. Mum and Dad exchanged glances before leaving. Xochital and Joel apparated away and Scarlett turned to me.
"I'll meet you back at the flat, I can tell you still need to do something." She said and kissed me on the cheek before disappearing with a faint pop.
I crept into the hallway and to the kitchen. The door was closed so I fed some Extendable Ears underneath it, remembering with a pang all the times I'd used my great uncle's joke shop products with Zara.
"Brianna's right you know," Mum's whispered voice rang into my ear as clear as a bell. "Zara deserves to know."
"She can't, it's too dangerous," Dad replied. "Imagine it."
"I know, I know. But how is she supposed to learn how to control her power if she's not told about it..." Mum stopped talking suddenly. "What's the matter?... Oh no. They haven't, have they?" I could almost hear Dad nodding. "Oh no. Oh no oh no oh no. What does it say?" Dad cleared his throat and began to read.
"Albus Severus, you were named after two Headmasters of Hogwarts. One of them was a Slytherin and he was a weak, good-for-nothing coward. Just like you. We know about your daughter's power, Albus and we intend to use her to our advantage.
Don't worry, we have a way to get to her. She has fallen right into our trap. And we'll have no trouble getting her on our side because, after all, she still thinks you hate her and such a confused, alone girl deserves some care and we'd only be too pleased to help her. Unless you sacrifice yourself. We could do with the Head Auror on our side.
So what will it be, Albus Severus? Will you save your beloved daughter, or will you live up to your cowardly namesake? We will be in the Department of Mysteries tonight. Oh, and don't bother bringing a team of Aurors with you, they will only be imprisoned for trespassing.
I hope to see you tonight,
Salazar Lestrange.""I tried to show the other Aurors, but they saw it as a friendly letter from the Minister about our great work. It must be enchanted." Dad said.
The world around me began to spin and the ground came closer by the second. I just managed to Apparate home before I crashed to the ground and everything turned to black.
A/N So, what do you think? I know, I'm evil...
