Chapter 25

New York, July 15, 2024.

Lia's visit was shorter than scheduled as she had to travel to Switzerland.

Our goodbye was a little sad as I was going to miss her a lot.

I was sitting in the living room with Lili on my lap when my brother Blake showed up.

"Hey, I thought you were going to the airport for Scarlett?" He asked confused.

"How am I going to pick her up at the airport, Blake?" I asked reluctantly "I don't dare to drive"

"Andy, you should try it" My brother said sitting next to me "Imagine you have an emergency and you have to take Lili or yourself to the hospital, are you going to wait for an ambulance to arrive?"

"No" I answered letting out a sigh.

"Then you should start practicing" Blake said taking my hand "I have no problem helping you get back to driving"

"I don't know" I said nervously "I don't want that to happen again"

"Hey Andy" My brother said making me look at him "That was an accident and it wasn't your fault. I've seen you drive and you do it very well"

I bit my lower lip while trying to hold back my tears.

"Maybe we could start practicing on the way to Scarlett's" My brother said taking me by surprise.

"What?" I asked confused and he just laughed.

"Oh come on" He answered getting up from the couch "I know you're dying to see her"

I couldn't help but blush.

"What do you say?" He asked holding out his hand for me to take.

"Yeah, I'd love to see her" I started to say "But I don't feel up to driving right now. Don't pressure me please"

"Okay" Blake said giving me a small smile "At least let me take you to her house"

"Okay" I said smiling "I'll take a shower"

"Sure, as if you wouldn't need one after the wild sex you two are going to have" Blake said laughing as he walked towards the kitchen.

"HEY, SHUT UP" I yelled as I got up from the couch "Can you watch Lili while I take a shower?"

"You don't even have to ask that" My brother answered coming back with some apple pudding for Lili and a banana for himself.

"Lili already ate" I said looking at him.

"I don't care" He answered laughing.

I rolled my eyes and went up to my room to take a shower.

While I was taking a shower I was thinking the whole time if I should tell Scarlett that I was going, but in the end I made the decision to surprise her.

The afternoon was a bit cool, so I decided to put on some light jeans, a white t-shirt and sneakers of the same color.

Before we got to Scarlett's house I asked my brother to stop at our favorite pizza place so I could bring something with me.

"This one's for you" I said handing a box of pizza to my brother.

"Oh, you didn't have to go to all that trouble" He said in a mocking tone "You should take it because you two are probably going to be hungry"

"Asshole" I said laughing as I got out of the car "Thanks for the ride, I love you"

"And I love you" My brother said "Use protection"
