Marseille, July 31, 2024.

Today is the day that the United States will face Australia.

I had mixed feelings as I wanted both teams to win.

I was in the tunnel getting my camera ready when I felt someone put their hand on my shoulder.

As I turned around I smiled seeing it was Steph.

"Hey" I said turning to her then hugging her "Good luck today"

"Thanks, I'm really nervous" She said in a soft tone "We need to win"

"No matter what happens I'll be there for you" I said kissing her forehead.

She thanked me and quickly walked out the tunnel to begin her warm up.

"Andy" I heard Emily Fox say while I was changing the lens of my camera.

"What's up Em?" I asked giving her a small smile.

"I just... I just wanted to know how you were" The Arsenal player began to say "I've seen you a little down these days and I didn't dare to approach you to ask"

"Oh" I said, running my hand over my neck "Thanks for worrying, but I'm fine, a little stressed but fine"

"Well, if you need to talk or if you want to go for a coffee, don't hesitate to tell me" She said, running her hand over my forearm "Besides, I like your company"

I just smiled at her and she followed the same path that Steph had taken.

I continued to put my things away while what Emily had mentioned crossed my mind.

"Is it so obvious that something is wrong with me?" I asked myself.

Honestly, it may be true, since I haven't slept well and apart from that there is the issue with Scarlett.

We haven't spoken since that day. Well, apart from the good morning and good night messages, but nothing more.

"Andy, are you ready?" S staff person asked me and I nodded.

I walked out onto the field with him and started taking pictures of the girls as they trained.

"You have a shitty face" Lindsey said making me laugh.

"Thanks" I replied pointing my camera at her again.

When the match started I went back to my designated spot.

Not even five minutes into the game Sam Coffey received the first yellow card.

"You're fucking kidding me" I said letting out a sigh.

In the 42nd minute Rodman put the lead on the scoreboard thanks to a pass from Sophia Smith. We had to wait for the VAR review for a possible offside, but in the end the goal was confirmed.

In the second half, the United States had many chances to score, but nothing came of it.

There were several substitutions during the second half, one of them being Korbin Albert, who was then given a yellow card after entering the field.

"FUCKING SHIT" I heard Lindsey yell angrily.

"Come on Lin, relax" I said to myself as I saw how angry the captain was.

Minute 62 and the second goal for the United States finally came from Albert.

The girls ran to celebrate and I couldn't help but look at Steph who was crouching down looking at the grass.

Australia started to put pressure on in the final minutes, which made me have to run to the other side of the field.

"Let's go lesbians, let's go" I said in my mind as I ran and I couldn't help but laugh.
