My mouth dropped as I read through a recruitment email. University of Georgia wanna recruit me, they offered me a full ride.
Whoa.
I threw my computer to the side before getting up and jumping excitedly. Yessss
I'm so shocked, I don't know what to say.
"What?" Journei asked while turning and looking at me, "What's wrong with you?"
"Journei" I said in shock before covering my mouth
"What?" she grabbed my computer before looking at it and her mouth dropped, "Au'jaeuh"
She got excited and we just screamed happily.
"Aw, I'm leaving you" I got a little sad after thinking about it
"I know"
"You gone come visit me when I leave though" I added because she is
I don't care if I have to pay for a flight, she's coming. No questions asked, simple.
Me and Journei live two totally different lives, literally. She's always busy doing something, so it's hard to make time for each other.
If she's not doing something, I'm doing something. Even though we go to the same school, that doesn't help.
It's school, what really are we gonna do? We see each other in the hall sometimes. She be making me do her math assignments too.
But for real, what we gone do at school? It's school.
She run track, I play basketball. Again, two totally different lives. She run track for the school and she's on a team outside of school.
So, that's where all her time go. Aside from that, she obviously has her personal life too. I don't know what goes on in her personal life.
Unless she tells me, which she do. But some stuff she don't tell me.
Having a god sister a year apart from me is fun. It's a bummer too because I wish we could spend more time together.
We don't be doing shit.
All we do is talk on the phone, text, and if we can we come to each other's house. It's nothing, but it's something.
"I'm coming to whatever school you commit to" she said before I gasped and got excited
I support the idea.
"I like that" we dapped each other up
"No Endyia, nobody in our ear to tell us nothing"
"Oh, I don't know about the nobody in our ear part" I laughed a little but I'm serious, "Maybe godmom ain't gone be in your ear, but me. Oh, Angel and Flau'jae not finna play"
"They gotta leave you alone at some point"
"They're not" she sucked her teeth before I shrugged, "It's cool though cause I'm still finna go have the time of my life"
"Don't go showing out"
"No promises, I ain't gone over do it though"
"Yes you is" we both started laughing, "Especially if your parents ain't there to tell you what to do"
"I'm really not, they got eyes and ears everywhere. Not saying that if that wasn't the case I would. I know how to keep shit confidential though"
"Oh trust, we know. You sneaky ass sagittarius. I'm happy for you though, you gotta call me everyday"
