It was a weekend. I woke up late to the sounds of music. It was Sandhya's voice. She was singing while cooking something.
I don't have any interviews to attend for today. The 3 offers which I got, I rejected as they either not matched my PayScale or was not relevant to my skill. I hope I will soon land in one.
Stepping off the bed I folded the blankets and made the sheets. After brushing my teeth and finishing my deeds, I came out to take my towel.
Sandhya came in probably to wake me up.
"ohh.. you woke up already? Did you brush ? I will bring coffee for you"
"no let me first take bath. I will have it later"
"ok if you say so" she shrugged and went to the kitchen.
I took a casual and relaxing bath to ward off my laziness. It felt very comfortable and relaxing to have a bath without any hurry as we do in the working days.
Finishing my bath, I stepped out and adorned myself in to an olive green T-shirt and beige shorts.
"Sandhya.. Coffee" I voiced out.
"haan.. I am preparing" came her reply.
I looked at the clock to see the time as 8.00 AM. I don't think it's still 8'0 clock. May be the clock has stopped working.
My mobile displayed the time as 11.00 AM. Stepping on to a stool , I took the clock and stepped down when I got a call from Vicky.
It was a casual call from him and we chit chatted for few minutes. As he is going to UK, we were conversing about that while I searched for a new battery.
Finally finding the battery, I started removing the old ones and inserted the new one. I had my mobile on speaker mode as my hands were occupied.
"machii.. shall we go out for eating today. As a treat before I leave to UK? I have got only 1 week to leave." Vicky asked.
"I guess Sandhya has already prepared lunch da.. may be for dinner?"
"ya sure.. but don't bring Sandhya today. We can have a separate treat with others later on. Today we both will go out and have the special item. Ok? " he asked.
"macchi.. I don't understand" I said removing the new batteries as they seemed to be not working. So I was trying out with the other set of batteries that I had. My mind was concentrated on the clock and batteries that I fail to notice what he was talking about and the situation I am going to get in to.
"machan.. did you forget . its been long time since we ate chicken biryani. Let's try it out before I leave da"
"sathama pesada da.. Sandhya kadhula vilunduda podhu.. avaluku theriyama dhan nan varanum. enaku therinja varaikum avaluku idhellam pidikadhu nenaikaren. pona masam dhaney da saptom."
(Don't shout man. I need to come without her knowing about this. I don't think Sandhya would agree to me eating non-veg. Last month too we ate. Now why again?)

"Coffee.." I heard Sandhya's voice which almost gave me heart attack.
I looked at her with terrific face which I tried to conceal. Did she happen to listen our conversation?
With a thud she kept the coffee on the table and gave me a stern glare. Right uh.. . that explains she listened to everything.
