Stephano's pov

"Isa can you go to the living room while I answer this call" I watched as Isa walked towards the living room, waiting for her to enter it before answering the call that showed 'Liam'

Phone conversation

Me: Liam

Liam: Sir

Me: You better have a good reason for me

Liam: Sir Volkov wants to meet you

Me: Schedule a meeting for tomorrow

Liam: No sir. He's here

Me: In my office

Liam: Yes sir

Me: I'm on my way

Phone conversation ends

"Merda (shit)" I muttered running my fingers through my hair.
"What do you want Volkov?" I asked myself as I dialled Lucas' number
"Lucas. I need you to take Isa to Alessandro's house. You know what you need to do" I ended the call letting a sigh out
I walked into the living room running my hand through my hand again and let out another sigh

My eyes landed on Isa who was seated on the arm of the couch drinking a bottle of yogurt
I walked towards her and knelt down on one knee so I can meet her eyes
"Isa, I have to go for a meeting" She had not used her voice all day so I wasn't expecting her to clear her throat before she started talking in her quiet voice
"Am I going with you?"
"No baby, you're still going to Cassie's house"
"Oh"

She looked down at her hands that was holding onto the yogurt. I cupped her cheek making her to look into my eyes
"Lucas will drop you okay?" I smiled at her and she gave me her adorable little smile in return
"Okay"

I lead her outside where Lucas was waiting to take her to Cassie's house
I put pats on her head as she wrapped her hands around my waist
"How are you gonna get to the office?" She asked looking up at me tilting her head a bit
"I have my ways"

"Have fun baby" I said as she got seated before closing the door. I nodded to Lucas at the driver's seat before he drove off with me waving to her with a smile on my face
Once they were out of the gate my smile dropped
I texted one of my men to get one of my other cars here while I changed into one of my all black Armani suits.
When I walked out of the house, one of my men was standing by my car. I got into the driver's seat and drove off to my mafia office.

15 minutes later,

Immediately I walked in, Liam rushed towards me
"Sir-"
"What does he want?" I asked walking towards the elevator
"He didn't say"
"Is Enzo here?"
"Yes. He's waiting for you in your office"
I pressed the top floor button where my personal office was located

When the elevator opened, I saw Enzo pacing in the lobby
"Enzo" He stopped in his tracks turning towards me
"Volkov's gone"
I raised an eyebrow not saying anything cause I had a hunch there was more
"'If you liked yesterday, you'll love today'. That's what he said before he walked out" Enzo said with his brows furrowed deep in thought

Yesterday? The exam was yesterday. Isa's team got attacked. So what's gonna happen today?
Oh no

My eyes met Enzo's as we figured it out. Just then both mine and Enzo's phone rang out a notification confirming our thoughts
"Enzo" I called out to him speed walking back into the elevator with him beside me
"On it" He said putting his phone on his ear while standing next to me as I pressed on the ground floor button
Please be okay

Time skip

I pushed my way to the front when I heard Enzo say her name. Her eyes lit up when she saw me
"Dad!" She ran towards me jumping up with me effortlessly catching her with her legs wrapped around my waist and her hands around my neck as she hugged me and I hugged back

"We got to stop having situations like this" I said chuckling all the while being dead serious
"Yeah" She giggled a bit possibly trying to show that she was okay but I could feel her shaking slightly on the verge of an attack.
"Get her bag from the trunk" I said as I could feel her shaking increase and the bag was brought to me almost immediately

"Enzo, get her iPad and earbuds out" Enzo got the the earbuds out giving me to me. I tilted Isa's head back a bit to put them in and saw that she had her eyes shut tight with silent tears running down her cheeks.
Once the earbuds were in I took the iPad going to Spotify and putting one of her playlist on.
A sigh escaped her lips as the shaking reduced gradually.

Enzo had a look in his eyes that said worried but his face showed nothing of it
"I'll handle this, you handle that" He said pointing at Isa who was still shaking a bit but was also humming along the song playing
"Dad" Isa called out stopping both me and Enzo in our tracks
"Yes baby" I made sure the volume wasn't too high cause of her sensitive hearing so she probably still hear through the earbuds
"I knocked out a guy behind the car. He tried to take me away" She said removing her head from my shoulder and pointing the car
"Someone on the walkie talkie said the guy's name was Rocco and that someone they called 'the boss' wanted me" She continued talking in her small voice even though she was wearing the earbuds

Enzo nodded to some men and they went to go and get the guy.
"Good job baby" I patted her head slowly pushing back onto my shoulder
"I don't even know why 'the boss' wants me, it's not like I'm anything special"
Enzo and I shared a look as she got her little head comfortable on my shoulder
If only she knew
