Trainings have been extremely awkward lately. Lia wasn't talking to Caitlin, Caitlin wasn't talking to Katie and Katie was barely talking to anyone. It made trainings harder to get through and created a sort of divide in the club, those who wanted to be there for Lia, those who were trying to make sure the three girls were okay and the those who wanted remain being Switzerland. Caitlin had stayed true to her promise to back away from Katie, especially now that her and Rue had broken up.

At some points Caitlin had to physically restrain herself from going up to the Irish girl and checking that she was okay. The day after Caitlin had gone to see Katie and told her she would back off, Katie had come into training extremely quiet and Caitlin could tell that she hadn't slept and had most likely just been crying. Caitlin wanted to talk to her, to ask if she was okay but she had to remember the promise she made which was to back off.

A couple days later the word had passed around the team that Katie and Rue had broken up. Caitlin knew how distraught her best friend would be, but due to the circumstances, and Caitlin could probably guess why they had broken up, it just didn't feel right to go ask Katie if she was okay. As well, they hadn't spoken for around a week now and they had just distanced so much that nothing was feeling natural anymore, if Caitlin were to go talk to Katie it would just feel and seem forced. So she had to let her heart heal and get over Katie.

Katie on the other hand was dying on the inside. Not only had she just got dumped but she was also being ignored by the girl she loved, both being her fault. She felt guilty for making Caitlin think she didn't want her to talk to her, she wanted to make it right with the Australian, she wanted to be with her, but at the same time she needed to heal from the breakup first.

It had now been over a month since the pair had last spoken, it was a training day and they were going through the usual run throughs when Caitlin's hammy started playing up. She tried to push through it and finish with training but when a tackle was made on her during a mini match, she fell to the ground due to her hammy cramping up. It felt more intense than what she was used to and knew that she needed to stop.

"Caitlin! Are you okay?" Jonas yelled out from the sidelines.

Caitlin didn't answer back, she was trying to make the pain subdue.

"Katie take her to the physio!" Jonas called, seeing that Katie was the closest to Caitlin and saw that Katie made the dirty tackle against the Aussie.

Katie wanted to argue back that she didn't want to and would rather keep training but decided not to, not wanting to cause anymore drama. She sighed and bent down to grab under Caitlin arm to assist her off the ground to the clubrooms. The simple touch had sent an electrical current through both girls body's but neither of them let it show. Katie helped Caitlin hobble into the physio's room without saying a single word the whole time. She decided to stay with the Aussie whilst the physio wasn't there, somewhat feeling bad that she was the one who had injured Caitlin.

"I'm sorry." Katie said, finally breaking the silence.

"For what?" Caitlin grumbled, she'd rather it if Katie had just left but didn't want to be the one to start a conversation.

"For the tackle, I didn't mean to hurt you." Katie said quietly.

"Yeah right." Caitlin scoffed.

"I really didn't Cait." Katie tried to defend herself.

"Don't call me that." Caitlin hissed

"I'm sorry." Katie said under her breathe.

"Yeah? What for now?" Caitlin raised her voice slightly, now looking at the Irish girl.

Katie took a deep breathe in. "For everything Caitlin. I'm sorry for pushing you away, for not talking to you, for not being there for you through this whole thing, and mostly for ruining any chances of anything happening between us." Katie listed.

Caitlin didn't respond, she just sat in the physio's chair looking at her hands.

"C'mon Cait," Katie said now taking a step towards the older woman. "Say something. Please." She pleaded.

"You hurt me Katie," Caitlin started causing Katie to let a sigh out. "You were my best friend, then we had sex and then you acted as if I meant nothing to you. You didn't talk to me for a whole month! A month Katie!" Caitlin yelled slightly. "I was trying to do the right thing by giving you space and just let you be with Ruesha and I'd sort out my feelings on my own. But then you guys broke up and I found out through Beth, fucking Beth, not my best friend like I thought I would!"

"Well it's not like you came rushing to my side to see if I was okay!" Katie bit back.

"Because I was trying to give you space! You literally said to me that you didn't want to worry about my feelings. That was the last thing you said to me, you know how that felt? And then you expected me to come rushing to your side because you got dumped?"

Katie let another breathe out and composed herself. She knew she was in the wrong in that moment and she knew she was in the wrong in this current moment too. "I know. I know Caitlin and I'm sorry. I was a dick and I understand if you don't want to talk to me any more. Just know you mean everything to me and all I've ever done since meeting you is care about you." Katie said and started to walk out the door.

Caitlin rushed out of her chair to grab onto Katie's wrist before she could leave the room. "That's the last thing I want Katie." She said.

"What do you want?" Katie asked, still with her back to Caitlin.

Caitlin took a moment to think about how she wanted to answer the question. She could choose that they kept tip toeing around each other or she could choose to put it all out on the table and see how Katie reacts. "I want you." Caitlin breathed, taking the second option.

Katie turned slowly to face the Aussie. She studied Caitlin's face before leaning in to capture her lips in a desperate kiss. Caitlin, shocked at first, began to reciprocate the kiss back, leading them to a very heated kiss.

They were interrupted shortly after by a cough coming from behind Katie. They broke apart quickly to find the physio standing in the doorway. "I heard you needed to see me Caitlin." He looked in-between the two girls. "Sorry I was late, had someone else to tend to quickly but didn't look like you minded too much." The physio tried to crack a joke.

The two women let out an awkward laugh both, to which Katie then decided it was her cue to leave. "Ill see you later Cait." She smiled and sent a wink her way.

Caitlin had finished off with the physio to then find out that the rest of the team had packed up and gone home. She started to pack up her things from the change rooms when she found a message on her phone.
