Hey

Hey, he says
How was your day
Great, how was yours, I say
He says „great" and we both go on with our day

But as we pass our fingers graze
Our eyes connect
And our souls beg for a taste

But we ignore them as we did before
And we continue with our day

After ten years we meet again
Hey, I say
He stares at me for a little,
like he forgot my gaze
Hey, how was your day, he says
Great, I say

But as we pass our fingers almost graze
His eyes linger on my face
And my soul begs for a taste

But we ignore it as we did before
And we continue with our day

After ten more years we may meet again
But this time both of us will have someone else
on their hand

And maybe this time our fingers will be full
And maybe our eyes will be on something entirely else too
And maybe our souls will still ache for something we forgot

But we will ignore it just like we did before
