I was sleeping peacefully till someone started knocking on my room door violently. I live in Udaipur; it is a beautiful city and the sunrise is exceptional here. I love this city a lot. The city has a lot of palaces, lakes, mountains and tiger gardens. Everything looks orange at the time of the afternoon. I love this place not because it is where I was born but because the air of this place provides me with peace and an unknown hope of finding love. Not only the love of a boy but also of a family.
Welcome to my shity house!
"Wake up you useless piece of shit! Get up and start preparing breakfast. This fucking maid always gets up late and we all have to eat our breakfast late. Get up or I am going to beat you to a pulp." Mrs. Malhotra screamed as always in the morning, or should I say, mother? Well, she never allows me to call her mother except when we are in a social event. She asks me to call her mam.
"Yes, I am awake mam. Just coming in a minute" I replied in my sleepy voice.
Hi, I am Ruhanika Malhotra. I am the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Malhotra. You guys might be wondering why my mother talks to me like that. Well, to answer your question, they never wanted a daughter or you can say it was an accident, they never wanted a second child. They never loved me. Ever since I was born, they treated me like shit and made me work like a maid. The only good thing they ever did was to let me study and that only happened because Bhai begged them for me. Bhai is a sweetheart; he loves me a lot. He never let them hit in his presence. Well, this is the sad story of my life. Back to work.
I hurriedly ran downstairs and started preparing breakfast. Since my Bhai was not home, I made breakfast as mam and sir liked Salad for mam and omelet for sir. They never asked me to have breakfast with them and they never cared whether I ate or not.
After I served them, I went to clean the house. First, I mopped the floor and then did the dusting. They never appointed any other maid because they thought they would whisper about our family dynamics with other people. Never mind, I do not take their ill-treatment to my heart.
After doing all the work, I went to my room to take a bath. After that, I have to go to the temple. Today is Monday, and I like to fast on Monday. After getting ready in an Anarkali floor-length kurta, I braided my hair and wore an oxidized jhumka, I started going out of the house when my father stopped me.
Her look:
"Where are you going?" He asked me, he seemed to be angry.
"T..temple" I stuttered slowly.
"Come back quickly or I will not let you see tomorrow's sun. Some of my business guests are coming today, make extravagant dishes for them" He ordered and went from there hurriedly.
"Which business associates are coming?" I mumbled. I went to the nearby Bholenath temple. As I was entering the temple, I noticed that it had a few stairs. I saw an old man who was on the verge of passing out. I immediately went towards him and saved him from falling on the ground.
He was sweating and was mumbling "s..su..sugar".
I immediately understood that his sugar level dropped that's why he was about to fall. So I made him eat the laddos that I had made for my prayer. He got up after some time and looked at me.
He asked," What had happened?". He was in a hazy state.
"Aapki suagar level drop ho gyi thi dada ji." I replied innocently. He was looking at me and suddenly he realized something.(Your sugar level dropped dada ji.)
"Shayad hum apni diabetes ki dwai lena bhul gye subha." He said. Then, he looked at me again and asked me to help him stand up. As I helped him to stand up. He placed his hand on my head and said "Khush raho bacchii, Aapne humari sahyata usske liye dhanyawad. Aapka naam kya h beta?"(I might have forgotten to take my diabetes medicine this morning. Stay blessed child, thank you for helping me. What is your name child?)
"Humara naam Ruhanika h aur aapko dhanyawaad bolne ki zarurat nhi h dada ji. Hume to achha laga ki bholenath neh aaj ke din hume kisi ki sahyata krne ka afsar diya." I replied with a smile. He also smiled at me.(My name is Ruhanika and you do not have to thank me, Dada Ji. I am glad that Bholenath made me help someone today.)
"Bohat pyaari bachhi ho beta, kya aap yahi aas paas rehti h?" He asked me while thinking about something. (You are very sweet my child, do you live nearby?)
"Ji dada ji, hum yehi paas mein rehte h." I replied to him, I just remembered that sir asked me to come home quickly and I got scared thinking if I delayed any more then he would not spare me.(Yes, dada ji, I live nearby only.)
"Hume chlna chahiye, hume late ho rha h dada ji. Aap apni sehat ka khyal rakhna aur time par dwai lete rehna. Namaste." I told him hurriedly while joining my hands.(I should go now; I am getting late Dada Ji. Take care of your health and take your medicines on time. Namaste.)
I went inside the temple to complete my prayer quickly and then went home.
Author's pov:
But she didn't realize that the person she helped was none other than the great Rajeev Singh Rajvansh. He was so much impressed with the innocence and purity of Ruhanika that he thought of marrying her with his dear grandson.
He sat in his car with the determination of having this girl as the daughter-in-law of his house. He knows that his grandson does not believe in love but he saw something in that girl which made him think about the possibility of changing Ruhan's behavior. He knows how to convince Ruhan to get married and he would do the same. He had a smirk on his face as he was thinking of his plan. He directly went to the Rajvansh Bhavan.
