"There are vampires, ghosts, and many different types of zombies here, but I think two of the worst ones have sensed our presence. You said you wanted to be prepared, so don't regret asking me for the truth. Currently, we are being hunted by the Revenants and the Gashadokuros. You and I are bad people, and the solution to defeat these wild beasts is only reserved for the pure of heart. As much as it's fun to have this personality, we are still not good people, and the monsters can sense this."
"Tell me about the Revenants and Gashadokuros."
"Do you think we have time for a fantasy lesson!?!" she snapped violently at me. "Don't you get it!?! If not, allow me to spell it out for you: WE ARE IN SERIOUS TROUBLE."
"Nothing is coming out yet, so we got time.
"If you can tell me what I'm up against I might be able to help," I consoled her calmly.
Perhaps she is not a good fit after all for a romance. Both her and her sister are annoying as hell— perhaps I should ditch this family altogether and find someone else who is wealthy.
I tried looking up the monsters on my phone, but of course, there was no signal.
If we had even a chance of surviving, it would not be even remotely by the likes of that witch Sabrina. Everyone with that name seems to be one, whether real or figuratively a dark sorceress.
"The revenants are here!" she began to panic and even started hyperventilating, which even I thought was quite a bit extra. Although we weren't really the most sophisticated people in reality, she could have handled this much more gracefully.
"Why are you scared?" I sneered at her.
"You and I can easily outrun these slowpokes. They must be one of the less dangerous ones, yes?"
"FALSE! They are vicious, vindictive, and especially fast when hunting their prey. These are not like other ghosts and zombies, because they are warriors brought back for the purpose of serving justice, however they may haunt the living until making their move. Their purpose is to haunt the living mercilessly, and in many cases, they can't distinguish between punishment and justice.
"We're toast!" she whined loudly.
"Just seems like you on a good day."
"They can sense bad people, even if it's only their first time meeting them. We're not having a change of heart anytime soon, and even if one of us did, this would not save us from our sins."
"Hey, I think the Gashadokuros are here now, too, and mannnn those are massive skeletons."
She gritted her teeth in anger, frustration, and fear all at the same time. The once cunning and clever Sabrina seemed weak and powerless, despite knowing more about these places and obstacles than anyone in this world could know about them. Seeing her wriggle like a useless worm was disgusting to me, and I was very glad now that I had not been romantically involved with her prior.
When I get home, I will take a shower and get some mouth rinse to wash off all traces of this detestable female— I really should be more careful next time who I choose to enjoy my company with.
"This yelling must have been extremely disrespectful towards them and now they are coming for vengeance.
"These are creatures who roam around at night looking for justice on behalf of all the disrespected souls, and they are extremely blood thirsty and relentless when it comes to serving the greater good. So many damn justice zombies!! We're so screwed."
"You and these 'damn justice zombies' have something in common: you're all relentless, bloodthirsty, and vindictive, but for very different reasons. As much as I enjoy sarcastic humor at your expense and would love to keep destroying you with my witty jokes, we need to get out of here like NOW.
"Where is our exit plan?"
"We don't have one, dipshit! We have to fight in order to leave, which means we're stuck here until the monsters die or we die."
"Well I guess we have to make one," I said irritably. I shot her a death glare, but this awful girl was so nonchalant and unbothered; if there were any chance of us surviving, it wouldn't be by the likes of HER.
Soola's POV
They should have gone with me. I know they had my best interest at heart and they were just trying to save me. They potentially sacrificed their lives for me. I must get them back at any cost!
"Of course I will help you find your friends. I wanted to see the fireworks with you, but it seems that the people you care about are in grave danger, and this must take priority.
"I know a thing or two about dimension hopping, so let me tell you how it works. I want to inform you as much as possible so that you can rescue them properly."
Without thinking or restraining myself, I gave her the most massive hug of my life, really embracing the best friends atmosphere that her and I now had going on. I didn't know her well still, but she was helping me, and as much as I was extremely thankful for her services, I also had a level of admiration for her personality.
"How can I pay you back for this?
"Do you want to be my friend?"
She burst out laughing and agreed to exchange numbers so that her and I could keep in touch with each other. She thought about it for a moment, and considered her answer carefully before responding to my first question.
"You're already helping my people by seeking to restore balance to the dimensions. I couldn't ask for anything else- what you're doing is so courageous and noble.
"I'll help you as much as I can, and plead that you don't lose that fire in your heart for justice in this chaos. Don't stop fighting. I would have done it myself a long long time ago if I could, but I'm only part of the system, and a lot of our programming is going haywire. My people are getting worse everyday.
"The only thing I ask in return is that you fix the system successfully."
"What about this programming?" I asked in a very puzzled manner. "You make it sound like we're robots or something."
"Technically we are. You know that you and I are in a video game, right?
"All the dimensions are linked, but yours is the only one that's technically outside of this video game. The best way to jump in is through the app, but there are many loose portals and paths around now that a lot of things have been going haywire recently."
"Do you know the name of the app? The name of the 'video game' so I can download it?"
"I do not know the name, but if you can find the original developer at the end of your journey, they might know."
"Thank you again, Una. This means so much to me."
"Good luck!"
With that, I hopped on the dimension bus and waved her goodbye.
I'm coming for you, my sweet Blake. Nothing will stop me from reaching the love of my life and nothing will stop me from reaching my sister.
I entered Scarlet Forest, and I knew instantly that I was in the Blood Dimension. I wanted to go to the Blood Moon Dimension, so I could rescue Blake and Sabri, but it seemed like they already beat me here. As long as they were here with me, I was happy.
Without hesitation, I ran up to them and gave them a massive hug, and even though they acted happy to see me on the surface, I got the vibe that they were disgusted by me, even though that didn't logically make sense.
"I'm so glad you guys are okay!
"Do you have any bruises or wounds from those awful monsters?"
"Nope!" Sabri replied hastily with the tightest and fakest smile. "We're all good, sis. What matters is that you're safe, and anyway, we weren't harmed. The most important thing is that we're all together."
I grinned at Blake who also grinned but it had the same fake tightness that Sabri gave me and I couldn't understand why they were acting so out of character all of the sudden. It was almost like they were hiding something from me. All of my worries vanished when Blake held my hand and looked me in the eyes with his familiar warm voice and kind smile that I've always known.
He leaned into me lovingly and tucked a strand of hair behind my ear before leading me on our next adventure to find that wishing stone.
"Shall we go find the wishing stone and keep moving forward?"
"Absolutely!" I beamed.
