_______________________Izabela thought she was getting better. She hoped that she was, but all it took was one moment in her music class to send her a thousand miles backwards.
Her hands froze, hovering over the white keys. She sat like that for so long she wouldn't be surprised if dust started to grow on them.
Her mouth felt dry and her palms began to sweat, her chest felt tight with anxiety and another emotion she couldn't quite describe.
A short chubby woman, her blonde hair tied up in a tight bun, stepped up behind Izabela. Her head tilted slightly to look over the shoulder of the brown haired girl.
The woman wondered if the brown haired girl was ever actually going to play something.
"Izabela dear, in order to learn the music you need to play it." Izabela looked up anxiously at her teacher, feeling her panic grow. She gave her an apologetic smile and turned back to the keyboard.
The short woman sighed and turned a couple pages further into the book that sat on the keyboard stand. "I know what you are capable of doing, Izabela. You have a great talent—use it." And with that the short chubby woman walked away and left Izabela to nervously nibble on her bottom lip.
She looked up at the new page her teacher had switched too and couldn't help the smile that tugged on her lips.
It was a piece she was familiar with, something everyone was.
The infamous tune sent memories flooding back into Izabela's head that she wished didn't reappear.
"Mummy!" The little browned haired girl called out, running down the stairs. A single paper clutched in her hands as she waved it around excitedly.
"Look mummy, I finally learned it! I did it!" The little girl smiled brightly up at her mother, the sheet music of Beethoven's signature piece close to her heart.
Her mother bent down to her level and gave her a tight smile, the little girl's smile wavered a bit.
"That's great baby, I'm so proud of you...but um.." Her mother looked off to the side, the girls father watching the two. "...mummy isn't really feeling well right now. How about you show me later, hm?"
The little girl's smile dropped, "It will be quick mummy I promise, I just wanted to show you."
Her mother glanced over at the little girl father, who sighed as sat up from his place on the couch and walked over to the two.
"Hey sweetheart how about we let your mother rest and then after you can show her, okay?" Her father said placing a comforting hand on her small shoulder.
