The baby kaiju and I watched calmly as the shadow, now known as Kenji, scared the fish into a trap, securing a good batch for the night.

Entering and scooping up the large amount of fish, the top of our enclosure opened up on command, creating an entrance for the baby to get her fish. I let out a small screech as the bombardment of fish nearly crushed my body, hedging on top of another fish a few centimeters away from me.

I heard the baby kaiju coo happily as she feasted on her freshly caught dinner, ignoring my body buried underneath the raw fish.

Suddenly, the fish on top of me were flicked off, and I felt myself levitate out of the tube by a strong force. I started panicking, swinging my tattooed arms left and right, squealing in fear.

“Hey, hey, it’s okay, it’s just me,” a loud yet calm voice projected from behind me, casting a light blue glow on my body.

I slowly calmed down, recognizing who had magically made me levitate out of the enclosure. Kenji cupped his abnormally cold left hand, placing me in front of him as he nervously chuckled.

“Sorry, kinda forgot you were in there,” he said, a chuckle escaping from his mouth, his body slightly vibrating as he pulled his cupped hands closer toward his face.

I sat there staring at him judgmentally, feeling the water run down my drenched, rancid-smelling body, my hair now once again stuck to my skin. Shaking my head slightly, I let out a sigh, feeling all the anger I had toward the shadow slowly dissipate.

“I guess he's not as bad as I thought,” I finally admitted, standing up slowly in his freezing hands. I looked up at him, my body so significantly small compared to his large humanoid figure. Curiosity wanted to lead my hands toward his face to feel, to caress, to ease my urge of the unknown, but my consciousness was stronger. I knew I smelled rather ungodly, so instead of reaching forward, I stepped back carefully on his large palm.

Knowing it was the right thing to do; besides, I really shouldn’t establish a relationship with them anyway, just because they had been nice to me for a few minutes. Just because my feelings trusted them.

“Unfortunately for them, my body doesn’t,” I thought, feeling my hands clench tightly, now staring down at the silver fabric material that covered his palm.

My train of thought was interrupted when a loud yawn was heard. I glanced up at Kenji, watching as his unoccupied hand moved from his ‘mouth’ back to his side.

Before I could even react, the weight that held me up from below disappeared, accompanied by a loud zapping sound. My body was now descending to the hard, cold tiles, looking haunting as I approached closer. I squeezed my eyes shut and waited for the impact of the hard floor connecting with my body, but instead, I landed on something still hard but warm and lean.

I felt arms grab my waist harshly, opening my eyes to meet the tired blue ones of the one and only Kenji, whose larger body had disappeared. My body rested in his lap at an awkward angle, my legs on both sides of his chest with my back touching the floor at his feet. However, it was now raised upwards, facing him, my legs now spread on each side of his waist.

“Sorry, are you... okay?” he tiredly mumbled, head tilting from left to right, eyes simultaneously closing.

I was about to answer, feeling inevitably awkward, when I felt a slight shift of weight on my chest. Glancing down, my brows raised with utter confusion at the sight of Kenji’s head resting on my chest, fast asleep.

Not even thinking for a second, I pushed his body harshly away from me, moving rather frantically from his body that slammed undoubtedly harshly onto the ground. Not wanting an unfamiliar person's body so close to mine, especially a shadow’s.
