Caretaker [Adam x Female Reader]

Prologue

It was just another normal day in heaven and you were hanging out with your best friend lute. You and lute initially met when Adam decided to make you third in command of the exorcists, ever since then you have been good friends. You two would constantly tease each other and she always tried to pawn you off to Adam whenever he needed anything that she didn't want to help with.

Because of this you had a slight distaste for Adam as you felt he was needy and always wanted something, but you tried to ignored it as it was your job after all. You were currently lost in thought and looking at your phone, as lute was trying to talk to you.

"Hey! y/n are you even paying attention to me?" Startled you looked up from your phone. "Sorry Lute", you apologized. "I'm just trying to keep my mind distracted and not worry about the extermination going down in a few hours." Lute's smile slowly faded as she playfully hit your shoulder and teased you. "I know it's your first extermination as a secondary lieutenant Y/N but I wouldn't let bad anything happen to ya."

You shrugged hoping she was right and that everything would be fine. But this extermination wasn't a normal one, everyone had their eyes set on destroying the Hazbin hotel. And you had a gut feeling that the princess of hell and her friends might put up quite the fight.

~times-skip to the fight~

You were on the battle field and your defenses had broken through the barrier finally. You got separated from lute when she went off to go fight vaggie. You kept your squad near Adam as he was fighting with Lucifer at the time. You strategically ordered your squad to hold back the cannibals and Charlie's friends from getting to Adam. As you were helping your squad fight and keeping everyone back you looked over your shoulder to check on Adam.

Just then you saw it, the little bug creature known as nifty had gotten through your defenses and was headed straight towards Adam with an angelic weapon. You noticed he had his back turned a rushed over there to try and get there before nifty. But she was fast! "ADAM! you screamed as you barely made it over there in time as Nifty was about to stab Adam you shoved him out of the way.

But the angelic blade went through your side instead and you screamed out in agony and layed on the ground in pain as nifty repeatedly stabbed you in the shoulder and wings with the blade. You then heard Lute scream as she ran towards you, Adam kicked Nifty off of you and picked you up. Lute barked at Adam to get his ass back through the portal with you told the exorcist to retreat.

Lute and Adam spread out there wings and took off, as you guys flew back through the portal it closed behind you. You were immediately taken to Sera to see if anything could be done. Sera took you from Adam and Lute to try and fix you up.  After she was done with you, she came back out and talked to both Adam and Lute.

I was able to stop the bleeding with bandages and a tourniquet but I cannot heal damage done from a angelic weapon. "One of you is gonna need to stay with Y/N until she heals naturally and be checking in on her." Sera said with a frown. Lute immediately volunteered Adam to watch after you and you glared at her. "Why not you?"you questioned Lute as you knew you would be more comfortable with her taking care of you. Lute held her palms in fists and said "Because I need to come up with a plan to get revenge on them for almost killing you! You're my best friend and I don't trust Adam to make that plan he'll fuck it up!" Lute covered her mouth as she realized she blurted that out in front of Adam as well, who was leaning on the door frame with a now hurt look. "Well I guess that settles it." Sera said, "for the time being Lute will take over the planning of the next extermination and Adam will make sure your taken care of." You just had an annoyed look as Adam smirked at you and said. "Well I guess you're coming home with me then sugartits." You looked back at Sera and Lute to see if they were serious, but they were already talking and making plans for the next extermination. You signed, you didn't even think Adam knew how to take care of himself, how was he gonna take care of you.
