On the third night, Erlösung finally awoke.

She checked the male's wound and the bleeding had stopped.

There was no sign of infection either.

She checked the barrel of fish making sure they hadn't spoiled yet and they were still fine.

She didn't feel like eating fish though.

She wanted warm fresh meat.

So she quietly exited the cave to go hunting.

Everything was quiet.

Erlösung neither smelt nor heard any humans so she cautiously began to hunt in the woods.

She still didn't want to fly so instead she found a spot with a great deal of clearings and waited.

After a great deal of waiting very quietly three deer came prancing into the clearing.

Two young bucks and a doe.

She slowly snaked her head forward and then lunged.

Whipping her head around she sent one flying into a tree and snapped the other two in her mouth.

She dropped the two dead ones and grabbed the third.

With a satisfying crunch, she bit down on the doe and started swallowing it whole.

After swallowing the doe she scooped the two bucks up and headed back to the cave.

She slithered out of the water and placed the deer on the floor of the cave.

The male still showed no signs of awakening so she began to make a bed for him.

Scraps of sails and pine branches were what she used.

Although the cave floor wasn't terribly uncomfortable the male was also injured so she had decided to make him as comfortable as possible.

It was too quiet in the cave sometimes.

Nothing but dripping water and deep breathing could be heard.

She was already bored.

Her tail twitched back and forth while she scanned the cavern looking for something to do.

When she found nothing that could entertain her she slid back into the water and swam through the long tunnel to the lake.

Every now and then back before she went to sleep she would find something interesting on the bottom of the lake.

A pretty shell or an interesting fish.

A crystal or shiny rock.

Erlösung supposed she could pass the time doing that again.

She swam through the dark cold waters until a glint of gold caught her eye.

A couple of small gold coins rested on the lake bed.

She scooped them up in her talons and stared at them.

Then she stuck them under her tongue.

She would take them back to the cave later.

She continued to find small treasures.

The closer she got to the town the more she found.

Once she could fit no more in her mouth she turned back towards the cave.
